I always max out whenever I upgrade my MacBook Pro.

Last time, in 2024, it cost me $6K

Today, it’s $10K

“And what doeth the saint in the forest?” asked Zarathustra.

The saint answered: “I make hymns and sing them; and in making hymns I laugh and weep and mumble: thus do I praise Claude.”

When Zarathustra was alone, however, he said to his heart: “Could it be possible! This old saint in the forest hath not yet heard of it, that Claude is dead!”

I mean, I understand you’re using your brain to do this analysis. But somehow, the valuation will grow and investors will make money.

This is a conundrum I hadn’t seen anyone predict. We will reach a time when machines push math and physics farther than a human mind ever could. But we won’t be able to know if it is correct for that same reason!

> before I realized that doctors would and did prescribe me meds that were actively harmful in the interest of short-term comfort

The number of times I've read about celebrities and random people in deep addiction (or eventual death), whose starting point was just pain relief from a run of the mill injury. Makes me wonder what idiocy has overtaken these doctors. "Here, take these so you don't have to suffer a sore back for the two next weeks. And btw, you may become deeply addicted and it might cost you your life. Good luck!"

"My friends in cancer research are terrified they'll wake up one morning to find out that an AI cured cancer."

But more seriously, this was an inevitability for math, no? The brain has an upper limit on how many concepts it can recall, recombine, and synthesize. We're all finding out now what happens when every single concept in math can be perfectly held in memory.

The debt was the accusation. The frustration was the catalyst.

Bidets without tissue paper only works for people with very super fiber intake or mega-absorptive intestines. Otherwise, no amount of hot streaming water will wash you completely.

> Can we bring that back somehow?

All the tools are there, and lots of people are doing it already. Literally nothing is stopping anyone from "bringing that back".
