What is weird to me is that running your own assistant is a bit of a fad, or are you all still running them? I thought we were past openclaw already but this just looks like these companies chasing it.

No amount of pixel art will convince me to give up on the freedom to choose.

A lot of the vibecoded interactive experiences remind me of these interactive books i had as a kid where you would open different hidden parts to explore. At some point it gets boring, i do not want to click one million times to find the information I am looking for. So, it is not interactive, this is a chore.

And yet I have felt a general code quality decrease and overall enshittification of software products since 2023 when people were already using copilot. Or I am just biased to use that to justify any overengineered piece of shit code with that because I refuse to think any sane person would come up with such contrived code and I am looking at the wrong places.

Such claims cannot be trusted as long as these news drive the heat score and hype of the companies, because these will always be inherently subjective, even unconsciously to what they want to believe. Is it real or is it LARP

We go to lengths to complicate and make expensive the things that are not. A dumb phone costs 30/50 eur max. It does not have internet connectivity and it does not have maps. Use an smartphone for that. Use both. Strap them together. And it's still cheaper.

Food for the landfill

Not to shit on the hype, but these are reasonably documented methods that surely are part of the training data

I am still unsure if the complexity is an inherent trait of any big organization or a byproduct of using kubernetes

Let me paraphrase the summary of Eloquent Ruby by Russ Olsen:

It’s easy to write correct Ruby code, but to gain the fluency needed to
write great Ruby code, you must go beyond syntax and absorb the “Ruby way”
    of thinking and problem solving

Doesn't it come from folks that are forced to work with dynamically-typed languages but can't be arsed to understand them?

I believe that all the speed gains are running on loaned time, and that time will need to be spent sooner or later.
