Folks at Frontier labs are saying "In 3 months you won't have to worry about code quality."

I know staff engineers who haven't read code in months.

I know others that read code hours ago.

Tech has always been volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous.

And this Meta engineer is describing a newer higher level of that.

Sick idea, folks that don't have humans on payroll need this- cool for solo devs.

This basically another way of saying "taste matters" and "make stuff you'd love to use yourself."

This is the approach I try to take to making stuff, and I think it's a liberated way to use your creativity.

I appreciate this perspective. Currently reading "On Writing" and would argue that Stephen King's perspective would be pretty similar to what's laid out here: surround yourself with good influences and your work gets better, and dissect why something is good (or bad).

Another point which may apply is to purposefully engage with work you don't like, because if you can figure out why it sucks, it'll help you make work that doesn't suck!
