The problem is that these teens want to watch tougher, mature stories like prestige TV stuff or the movies Variety cited and then complain that there's sex on it. If they are not comfortable watching sex they should stick to basic mainstream stuff, which became completely aseptic after the Superbowl tit incident. Not everything has to be for everyone.

And even for those with better intentions, the low stakes interaction will become high stakes as attraction and expectations increase. When rejection almost inevitably happens at some point, bringing feelings of innability and jealousy, it will be tougher to deal, specially for the less experienced following this path.

In this sense hookup culture can relieve such pressure and allows for decoupling the sexual needs, and romantic ones even - personal note: I think it's weird how people online talk as if it's mandatory to mistreat/abandon the people you hook up with. I build a small but nice network of "friends with benefits" which for me are simply friends who enjoy a specific activity. Like, exactly the inverse of what everyone is recomending and it worked for me.

The conclusion from the music analysis is off because of changes in media consumption and chart calculations. When a top (or even a mid) act drops an album (so, every week), the entire album is listened on the apps by many people and it is not unusual to have all songs in the top 100 that week.

I do not get the link between the quote and the accusation

I seriously doubt ABBA, who stuck with the Disco sound through most of their careers, has more "sonic variety" than Katy Perry's genre salad albuns like 'Prism'.

Fleetwood Mac changed their sound a couple of times and they are at the bottom of the ranking as well. Just shows how hard is to measure stuff like this

These post-grunge bands of early 2000 presented a powerful combination of witless lyrics with the cheesiest riffs and hooks a guitar can produce. Nickelback is far from the worst of those, but they were the most popular.

The rock guys in my HS lab would sit at the only PCs with speakers and blast it loud to everyone else's misery. They did the same with Evanescence/Nightwish, bands for which I developed gratitude from sparing me of those guys same deep raspy voice.

Cookie (Informatique) is always the daily most viewed page in french, and by large margin. This does not seem to be the case for any other language. I wonder why

Brazil had the same inflation problems and adopted a plan very similar to Cavallo's plan. Brazil also had a lot of corruption and trouble reducing public spending, but came out of it comparatively better. Ultimately, the crux of the 90's failure was the obsession with the dollar running top to bottom in society (caused mainly by the politicians misleading the people about the viability of the peg) and the refusal to de-peg when it was the obvious way ahead. And off we go again...

the "temptation" was caused by a massive speculative attack that moved billions of dollars out of the country, a depletion of reserves and the complete collapse of society in December 2001.

A 20 year old person is already old enough to use Social Media, smoke and drink. By 2 years at least. Y'all insane.

Real never really gained value this way, the government defined the value of the bands. It floated up and down inside the bands, but the government was acting behind the scenes to keep the bands (essentialy a peg), mostly burning reserves, selling companies and cutting programs. It helped controlling inflation and was a good approach even in hindsight, the duration of the measure is the problem. In 1997 it was clear to everyone that the peg was not sustainable and should be removed, but the government postergated until past the (re)-elections. But that's Brazil, and then there's Argentina...
