Since I actually don't know math, maybe my ELI5 understanding can be helpful (or corrected).

The conjecture says that you can always reverse (a process) to determine the original inputs.

But this proof shows multiple inputs creating the same output - which obviously cannot be reversed to determine the input - thus falsifying the conjecture.

I wish I could be angry about this, but the time has passed.

20+ years ago I refused to buy the Steam version of Civilization 5 and waited for my physical boxed copy.

It automatically unlinks the desktop app if you don't open it for 30 days.

There is now at least a reminder on the phone app that will prompt you a few days before one of your desktop apps is about to get unlinked.

The grand jury did not indict in this case.
