for a crazier example.....hooters hire it's waitress as "entertainers/actresses" now to avoid alot of their rules that would be sexual discrimination anywhere else you serve shitty food.

this reminds me of something I built pre-LLMs that i called a "doomsday computer"

it was a raspi with a couple 18650s and bms taken from a drill battery combined with a pico-projector and a laser keyboard stuffed in a waterproof acrylic cube with a stack of sd cards filled with stuff like the survivor library and an offline copy of wikipedia.

complete with fold out solar panels and circuitry taken from one of those amazon solar phone chargers.

worked well for a few hours at a time at night while camping. eventually i was planning to add a retropi sd and a best of music sd (like classical and the rolling stone magazine top 500)

Just reading all of these comments. I am reminded as to why anarchists view property as theft

I personally worked for a company in mountain view whose main product was an automated form filler for pest control operators and there cali EPA documentation.

It was something that looked like it was originally written in visual basic and than rewritten in react for tablet devices.

I'm still under NDA but the above figures related to per company\ per month sales are about right

The thing is: freedom of speech (Like all other freedoms), is a two-way street.

You're free to say whatever messed up stuff you want to me, and I'm free to tell you to "Go F*CK Yourself"

its ok.....i got a diploma from a prestigious music school at the age of 18 and still spent the large chunk of my 20s working my way from busboy to assistant kitchen manager at a variety of classy restaurants, culminating in about $12/hr.

During the restaurant years I was also going to college for computer science and ultimately dropped out halfway through to do remote R&D work for a silicon valley gig making a whopping 500 bucks a week (living in FL)...Than covid hit and the boss went back to Korea.

Now I make 12.50 an hour repairing and designing boutique tube amps in KS

You should have started by putting some money on the ground when they aren't there....and then when they come you pick up the money and leave the peanuts.....do this a few times on a daily schedule and then "miss" a day or two so they associate having money on the ground with getting peanuts....then the profit comes
