Yeah, I suspect the closer you are to the optimal voice/movement the better the effect is.

THey don't need a majority. They'd use it as negotiating leverage, ie, I'll vote this way if you vote that way.

What's interesting though is that Germany is an industrial powerhouse compared to the US.

Yeah, peaceful economics far outweigh military. Military cant hire talent because talent can make more money building products for the world. It's a nice trend. Trump's anti-trade is screwing that up though.

They're both in the wrong. Epic for screwing it up and rushing rather than investing in security, and Google for trying to score PR points at the expense of their users. Google is being anti-secure here by not allowing the update to filter through the ecosystem.

You mean google? You're right though, Google does a crap job auditing the playstore. It's ludicrous how they'll allow apps get access to everything on the phone without any kind of serious warning to the user.

My kids install all sorts of crap. I've warned them that all their texts and photos will end up on the internet because of it. Not highly probable, but certainly possible. Makes for a useful double check they're not texting anything silly.

7 days seems awfully short and not in the interest of users.

Yeah, it's definitely possible. It's a biz model in the crypto currency world.

Venture capital wouldn't exist if this weren't the case. Hell, hacker news wouldn't exist if this weren't the case.

That's capitalism, baby. He who controls the capital reaps the rewards.

Ok, this doesn't make sense. Maybe APPL, but there is no way Google is that dependent on app store fees.

"If app store commissions fell to a blended rate of 5 percent to 15 percent, that would knock up to 21 percent off Apple’s earnings, before interest and tax, by fiscal 2020, Macquarie estimated. Google could lose up to 20 percent by the same measure, according to the brokerage firm. The technology giants are expected to earn more than $50 billion each, before interest and tax, in 2020, according to analyst forecast data compiled by Bloomberg.

Isn't it replicated every day in prisons?

I have no problem giving a number, but I know how much I'm worth. I really don't want to get paid more or less.

Far and Away did a decent cinematic retelling. It'd be interesting to see something which does a more complete job.

This is sort of true and sort of not true. It definitely does currently work, but if companies like Google and MSFT decided to, they could make it not work by providing search engines that actually helped you find products that are a good fit for you. But that will never be their focus as long as they make money off of ads.

Instead they create search engines that find a series of products that are relevant, though not necessarily a good fit.

I always thought this would be an interesting product that apple should work on. An iPhone search engine that finds products for you. They have the entire market to themselves and bucket loads of money to spend on it.

Apple never was good at that kind of thing, sadly, mostly because they can't attract the best in AI because of their secretive ways. They don't value their employees enough, like Google or Facebook.

MSFT could probably jump into the market to, though, if they made it a part of their OS.

Amazon is unfortunately screwing themselves by going backwards by making money off of ads. It's the beginning of the end for them I think as they get more addicted to that money. The more they leverage it, the less useful they become. Instead they should focus more on fixing their fake review problem.
