A spy?! Almost half the people working in usa big tech are asian. If it tips over 50% you could call the white people the spies in asian companies located in usa

It's just as if he had the brilliant idea to do photonics as an outcast even though there is already a 6" wafer semi-production level fablab being built for it in The Netherlands. There is even a version of TinyTapeout for Photonics.

The Dutch govt is slowly nationalising the chip industry, by making taxes so high no company can survive international competition, and then using this tax money to buy stock in all deep tech companies calling it investing.

Who is an expert on AI now? Probl me actually I already followed OpenAI before they had GPT when they were trying to play DOTA with collaborative AI team players. And I've used probl more LLMs than anybody writing for a newspaper and I've read about 500 papers on it and 1200 github projects.

Nobody's an expert on AI more than me and basically all my friends.

What I do know is there are more dangers for the human race than AI. One example is fungi that have become immune to intervention because of abuse in farming. Fungicides are much more difficult to make than antibiotics, because fungi only recently split from human cells in the evolution. What protects us from them is our warm body temperature.

With global warming sometimes fungi evolve to resist higher temperatures, killing entire populations of cats.

How will we defend against this without AI?

What if next month there is a plague of fungi that are resistant and quickly spreading killing 4 out of 5 people?

What will we do then without our AI? Let the micro-organisms win? Because we like nature so much because it's so natural?

We need AI if we ever want to stand a chance against events like this. Many animals went extinct. 99.999% of all animals I would argue. Will we be very very lucky? We are super densely populated and flying all around. How quickly could covid infect all humans?

Not having AI is also an existential threat in the long term.

I would instantly be bored.

Why have so many people turned conservative because of AI.

It's the people to lazy to use their own brain and learn a new skill that don't like AI thinking for them.

I don't know but I highly suspect this law will mainly effect people drop shipping from China and will benefit companies like us who for moral reasons work to re-shore production.

When I get packages from Europe it's always is recyclable cardboard while from China it's always wrapped in plastic.

When I get packages from Europe or the USA it's always branded so the company responsible is always clearly shown, while from China it's usually brandless.

I'm European and I am developing a model that's 20% worse and 0.001x the cost of Chinese models.

Personally I also always just use Gemini-3.5-Flash since for me it's actually a good search tool access that makes a model great.

But I'm not very typical European we have 2000x B300 and I'm in USA and China all the time, and work 16hrs a day without weekends and holidays.

If anything this means that the insane amounts spent on AI are just mostly virtual speculative stock deals and in reality the amount spent in AI is kinda normal.

They all look like something went wrong in the press alignment process

Your point is more about which side is right and which side is wrong.

My point is more about a cultural shift in who's on which side.

The traditional left has become conservative in that they don't want new technology.

While the traditional capitalists want basic income so they can keep building all this cool stuff and keep playing their game of building AI and robots.

What does more harm? Going back to the middle ages having another one of these dark ages where technology is shunned? Will China and Russia then grab power?

Or will we really have a dictator AI?

Possibly both where China is ruling over less advanced countries with AI. They are clearly not stopping developing technology no matter what the west decides.

The biggest change is that the left have become the conservatives

Ironically it's also written by AI :)

I like LLM's but this writing style is like eating the same dish 4 times a day.

France and Germany are also kinda big, at least for the size of the country.

Nobody trusts the Chinese that's the problem, not that people don't trust Claude.

Why was this person from Hong Kong going through the details of Claude code for obvious security reasons? There are some other obvious reasons that come to mind.

Maybe it's an eye opener for this person how much the trust in Chinese companies has eroded in the West.

Even if they suddenly stop stealing IP, which this "security research" article would certainly not suggest is happening, it would be a very long time before trust is restored.
