Holy shit, what his whole speech. Yes go watch it. There is zero way. Zero it wasn’t a Nazi salute.

Fuck, it is like the denial around Jan 6th. Those idiots we’re live streaming that shit. I watched it go down live. Now they say they weren’t violent.

We can’t have discourse when we have legit video evidence and people refuse to open their eyes and choose to deny reality

I mean technically I don’t think it is airgapped. The DoD didn’t run their own cables. They run encryption devices and run their own network on top of the existing infrastructure.

Yeah but here is the thing. Say you train a Lora for a model. You then merge those weights into the open weight model.

Now prompt it for an original image, it will pretty much be able to reproduce that exact image.

You can say it is just measurements but at some point, it can just reproduce with high enough accuracy to just be seen as a copy

Given that corporations buy up any valuable IP, I personally think the answer is to abolish copyright because right now it is really only protecting the rich and corporations . Individuals have the illusion of protection but if Disney steals your shit, good luck with the pain and suffering you experience trying to win a court case against them

It is bullshit also because it hasn’t protected anyone. Copyright only protects massive corporations.

It gives the false sense to individuals that they are protected but they steal from individuals all the time and have the resources to define themselves from us.

They can stall in court for years to bankrupt you.

At least without copyright it puts us on equal footing

It already happens. Instead of a book look at TikTok for example. Come up with a cool product, if it sells at all, it will be immediately counterfeited.

The issue is that copyright is only protecting massive corporations.

Did copyright helped against AI? Nope.

If copyright was eliminated, say you are a great up-and-coming filmmaker, you could go make your own marvel movie. You might break into the industry because of that. You make some one off superhero movie is far less likely to hit with an audience.

Copyright doesn’t help small individuals, it only helps corporations protect themselves against us.

Infra as code and devops shit. Fable is there in general because things it doesn’t know I can point at documentation and have it do a reasonable job. Opus 5 sucks. If I don’t have fable quota, I drop to Opus 4.8 and hold its hand.

I think the SOTA models are good at development in general. But for some reason people want to get pissy they aren’t writing bug free code or perfect code.

Senior devs don’t write bug free code. I don’t expect bug free code from my agents. I expect things to be missed.

That was true a year ago but is no longer true. Deepseek is training and running inference on Huawei chips.

The times of China needing Nvidia chips is quickly coming to an end.

I guarantee that China will scale faster, build faster, and ultimately produce far more chips than the rest of the world combined in 5 years.

Our export controls sank the west. It would have been better to allow them to use Nvidia chips. Now they will have chip fabs that aren’t quiet as good but way more of them. Their investment into sustainable will make the power so cheap that the less efficient chips will not be a relevant issue

I do not agree. Fable is the only model I can leave unattended and give me results for part of my work which is just devops related tasking.

I can hand hold opus but I would rather just ask fable to do it and give me the result that I review and works. Opus will waste tokens and still require me to help nudge it in the right directions.

I think the next gen models from china will put us in a spot that the cost can plummet and I won’t need the Sota from anthropic

I operate mostly in the devops arena. Lots of things opus is fine for. But there is just things where I can hand hold Opus through changes, or I can ask Fable to do it and it gets it right on the first try. People will say let fable plan and validate with opus doing the work. I found that burns fable tokens even faster because opus makes so many mistakes, fable has to review things 4-5 times before opus gets it right. A single fable implementation at medium or low effort would have one shot it.

Are you paying attention to what ICE is doing in the US? Deporting US citizens, murdering US citizens, and moving towards white nationalism.

Unless the US makes a huge correction in 2028, we are looking to be like the handmaids tale. And I would say China is a culture closer to Canada than that.

I am on an M1 macbook pro. My company will upgrade me anytime I want.

I haven’t asked because my current laptop is more than ok.

It happens on zoho. I ran my business email on zoho. Multiple instances where people on Gmail had my messages go to spam. I have the same issue with proton mail.

AI has forced a dramatic shift in my view on intellectual property. The laws as they exist only protect corporations now.

They do not protect individuals no matter how much people want to think they do. AI has proven this.

I think to level the playing field all copyright, trademarks, and patents laws should be eliminated.

If I want to make a marvel movie, I should be allowed to and profit from it.

AI let the cat out of the bag and there is no going back. We need to let individuals profit just like corporations can from what is considered theft right now.
