Hoppier | Full Stack Engineer / Backend Engineer | Ottawa, Canada | ONSITE | FULLTIME | https://www.hoppier.com/

Humans spend about a third of their life at work. The way we interact with consumer apps is digital and disruptive. Why can’t the way we purchase things and manage services at work be too? We have a big vision at Hoppier, and we’re looking for more amazing people to join our team and achieve it.

We're looking for full stack (React + GraphQL + MobX) and backend (Node.js + Express + Apollo + AWS) engineers to join us full-time starting basically now:

This is amazing, and something I have been looking for for a long time. One problem though, at least EDC, Govenor's Ball and Bonnaroo dates all seem to be wrong

I think the argument is that most people are truly only attaining maximum productivity for 5-6 hours in a day, so why are they even there for the extra 2-3? If you make $100/hr for 8 hours but are only productive for 5 of those hours, your employer is really paying you $160/hr. Why are we wasting employees time and employers money?

That is exactly what it is

'the 1.1.1.1 app does not make anything more spotty or unreliable; it’s just DNS. Openvpn yes, but this app clearly not.'

Not entirely true, in my experience it really fucks with your ability to connect to public hotspots (ex. airports, airplanes, trains, coffee shops) which took me a while to realize

I've used some pretty recent Android devices which take 1-2 seconds to focus and capture using the actual camera, so I see where he's coming from. Done > perfect when you're trying to capture something happening RIGHT now.

Why not just do a screenshot of the code from Atom?

I just created a PR to include a link to the raw download link.

This is probably going to be great, but I just tested out voice generation with the bare minimum of 30 recordings, and it really fell flat. When I tried playback with an input, all it could produce was a high-pitched buzzing sound and then maybe 1/4 of the words I typed in, which sounded nothing like me.

Perhaps you should increase the minimum from 30 recordings to 100?

Stripe does this with BYOT: https://stripe.com/blog/bring-your-own-team

I've also worked at multiple organizations now where a great trick is to hire one "influencer" and then slowly hire everyone they know.
