I use below frequently, all free.

Markdown notes: StackEdit https://stackedit.io

mind-maps in ASCII: ASCIIFlow https://asciiflow.com

hand-drawings: Witeboard https://witeboard.com/

Let them stay on your browser's toolbar in case you need them.

I do compare the site below, enjoy.

https://www.ventusky.com/

And make sure you disable browser's configuration on its fingerprint resist feature cause it will damage site's animation, both on windy or ventusky.

Don't worried. Let them choose what to play with. They will learn faster than you, I promise.

Off-topic: I'm kinda worried our kids might not know or use pens correctly if we keep pushing keyboard use.

Caution: DuckDuckGo's Apple Maps might kill your macOS's default map (show completely blank map) if your app has non-English language setting. If so, open your active monitor and search "geod", kill it and run map app again. It can return your apple map app back to normal state.

1. Both Pinboard and Pocket as my main bookmarklet storage. They're just storage but not necessary to read them all.

2. Instapaper and emailthis as my "to read" tools. Instapaper is very nice for article readability (better than pocket) and emailthis as article storage, or sometimes needs to send out to friends or colleagues.

3. Zotero as main research or pdf keeper.

4. I don't use Evernote now because I already bumped into their 100,000 limitation three years ago.

5. Please remember to use "star" or "Love" to pin your important bookmarks. It'll help someday.

Kevin Mitnick said that too.

So it's basically an iPad in the back. Can it play TV?

The best way to me is just clone https://github.com/ryanoasis/nerd-fonts and look into the `pateched-fonts` folder, see what font you might like and do `./install.sh <font name>`. That's it.
