The last release and blog post are from 2018, is it actually alive?

If you cannot understand how a huge increase in energy might be useful you should probably not go around calling other people stupid. We are not going to get carbon removal and desalination at scale to fix the already baked-in consequences of climate change by making our water heaters more efficient. Efficiency is good but there is more to life than the status quo.

Old iPads are better than this in every way except for the way that matters most in a shared family device, then? I'd love for Apple to add multi-user support to iPadOS and think it's way past time they did, but it's not going to be a simple software update. This device has on-chip support for multiple FaceID accounts so it can distinguish them securely.

Until the past couple launches it was the ship that had the issues. Had to be blown up a couple times, failed to relight in vacuum, lost an engine and nearly failed to get to the suborbital trajectory last time. Meanwhile the booster had the most spectacular success in the catch, and has yet to result in a catastrophic failure.

Ha, mine's not an EV so I haven't hit that, but it absolutely tracks. Every part of the app feels like something that was built by a consultancy to fulfill a set of Jira tickets by people who have never and will never actually drive one of the cars.

I also have the same combo of makes, and it's totally wild that people think the two are comparable technologically. The Kia is like owning a locked-down carrier dumbphone from 2007 and the Tesla is like owning an iPhone. Still a walled garden, not exactly an unlocked Android, but at least one that works and is built by developers who care.

Do you happen to know, is that because it can’t recite Harry Potter, or because it’s been instructed not to recite Harry Potter?

He can take out a full page Wall Street Journal ad tomorrow that says “I created hyperloop to kill CA HSR” and it will have no effect on the fact that CA HSR’s failure is 100% the fault of CA’s own dysfunction.

This is the funniest conspiracy theory.

Because for all the incessant whining about "slop," multimodal AI i/o is incredibly useful. Being able to take a photo of a home repair issue, have it diagnosed, and return a diagram showing you what to do with it is great, and it's the same algos that power the slop. "Sorry, you'll have to go to Gemini for that use case, people got mad about memes on the internet" is not really a good way for them to be a mass consumer company.

Ah yes, famous racial utopias, all of them.

I think the eye contact in question was a prelude to the two of them kind of following each other around and a minor verbal altercation, so the later context shows that it was probably kind of suspicious eye contact, rather than a friendly "what's up?"
