Sorry to single you out, but it’s surprising that this is such a consensus opinion around here. If an LLM isn’t giving me exactly what I need in the format I want, I tweak skills or system prompts until it does.

These aren’t deep AI hustle bro hacks, it’s literally just editing some text. If a big part of your day is reading AI-generated words, slap something together to make it do words gooder.

That’s neat, but I don’t understand in what world I would migrate to a browser made by the people who just killed their browser after promising it would be maintained indefinitely. Especially after being bought by Atlassian, who has an almost perfect track record of ruining or sunsetting nearly every acquisition.

Note that the model discussed in this article isn’t available in this app running on the phone. Still, it has some good local options like Gemma 4 and can link to the desktop LM Studio app which is cool.

If you’re whining about how another company gets away with user-hostile behavior that you’re emulating, you’ve lost the plot.

I swear only Apple brings out comments where people will insinuate a whole nefarious conspiracy over phones being sold in different colors.

I didn’t even see the OP comment as a criticism of his analyses, just that he likes to do this rhetorical trick of dropping in numbers that are, at best, tangential to his point to prop up the argument’s credibility. Sometimes he does this in the middle of a real financial analysis which is even more maddening and confusing.

All the benchmarks in the world don’t matter if the subscription forces you into a walled garden of slopcoded apps. I’ll stick with Codex and, increasingly, open source SOTA models.

This is vibe psychology. I owe my entire career to a short attention span that drives me to constantly learn about new ideas, technologies, and hobbies.

I was being glib because “attention span” is a poorly defined concept that people are more interested in deriding than understanding, as you demonstrate with your comment that we don’t need science to know that it’s bad. I’m specifically criticizing the tendency to ascribe virtue to tediousness while passing it off as psychology.

After a lifetime of having to prove that my ADHD doesn’t make me a drag on society, call me skeptical of people who insist they know what makes a brain objectively worse than another based on vibes. It’s one thing to discuss the impact of tuning an algorithm to be addictive, it’s another to make a claim that a preference for one form of media over another is a Problem.

Ironically, I’m a pretty heavy reader and find it funny that people treat reading like some paragon of mental discipline when it’s just the media that I find stimulating. I absolutely have a much shorter “attention span” than most people who primarily consume short form video.

I’d posit that we just puritanically glorify anything perceived as difficult, regardless of the correlation with “intellect.” I’m fine not having the same attention span as people who had to less stuff to do hundreds of years ago.

Marketing, like every other functional part of a business, requires technology and engineers. This has nothing to do with fear, you just don’t respect non-engineering work as critical to running a business.

AWS Bedrock doesn’t even try to stay on top of new open source models or their API capabilities. We’ve also run into also kinds of frustrating issues rate limiting and slowness issues. GCP is probably the best alternative now that they have actual spending caps, I believe a lot of Openrouter models are run on GCP.

The other popular option is something like LiteLLM, which just has a major vulnerability that left a lot of big corps exposed. After spending a year trying to fight this battle, I’ve decided OpenRouter is worth their cut (and maybe more but don’t tell them).

Lacking world knowledge is fine for me, I rarely want to rely on the model’s training anyway when there are plenty of great search options to integrate with.

I thought the purpose of coding was to produce software, but apparently every action I take should be evaluated on how well it achieves arbitrary brain calisthenics.

Yeah, my interest in giving money to this guy vanished after learning about this. It’s not like whipping up some eink dashboards is a huge imposition in the AI era for anyone nerdy enough to want this in the first place.

Afaik there’s never been any apology or statement, just a careful scrubbing after this started making its way around nerd spaces.

Edit: Sheesh, I was only familiar with the transphobic remarks. This guy is a lot worse than I thought.
