RANT! You've been warned.

> Voice Presets are available in 18 languages: Arabic (Emirati, Modern Standard), Brazilian (Portuguese), Catalan, Chinese (Mandarin), Dutch, English (American, British), French (France), German, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish (Spain), and Vietnamese.

Brazilian (Portuguese)? Folks, c'mon... It's OK you don't care about Portugal - I mean it - but Brazilian is NOT a language. Why didn't you write "American (USA, British)" too?

What you said about the RTX 6000 was kind of my point. Local AI is feasible today, but only few people will be willing to drop 20k+ on a graphics card. I'm less optimistic than you on the timing of the trickle down, but I hope you're right! :)

Latency is the remaining hurdle for local AI. We'll get there, but my prediction is that it will take around 10 years.

I would prefer a core transport agnostic protocol, and then see MCP-over-HTTP being a spec on top of that.

Ran into the same issue and didn't find any willingness in the OTEL gods to close this gap.

I would love to help, but it's not my domain. I, unfortunately, witness the side-effects of people stealing them on my day to day. There are many shops in Lisbon that sell them, and there's even a beautiful museum here that it's definitely worth visiting (or signing up for a workshop!): https://museunacionaldoazulejo.gov.pt - it's currently closed for renovation; it should reopen later this year, but that's yet to be confirmed.

When buying - on the streets or in a shop - if it looks old, unless provenance is absolutely clear, please don't.

Doing a little activism here: please don't buy old ones while visiting Portugal/Spain/etc., as they are commonly stolen goods. Thanks, from Lisbon.

Are you using openrouter or something else?

Very cool! I did something similar using Dolphin and LLVM, 16 years ago during my masters, for a course on virtual machines. I compiled the interpreter to LLVM bitcode and then used it that to build basic blocks. It was super slow, but it worked, and I had lots of fun working on it.

Q: Why? A: Why not?

These folks have no lasting moat and they know it. We are still close to the November 2025 inflection point, so they had a clear advantage during these past few months. That will soon fade as open-weights models become really good, which is arguably already the case with DeepSeek V4.

I find it surprising that the word "incident" doesn't yet show up on this page. Cloudflare had at least two nasty incidents a few months ago. It certainly shook my confidence in the company's ability to run its infrastructure.
