> Remember last US pres election polls by CNN? Completely wrong.

I do. I don't remember that at all. I think you might have some odd definition of completely wrong though.

But please, by all means, share these 100% wrong polls that showed, for example, Trump having 0% chance of winning. Most of the polls I saw were fairly accurate within their margin of error and made it clear the race was tight (which, in the end, it was). And nothing I've seen has changed that, but if you have polls from CNN specifically that you can point to, by all means.

Fun fact, parties, and more importantly the people in them change and evolve over time. They aren't stagnant. For example, we see this with the Republican party which use to hold claim to things like law and order. But times change, and so do parties.

So just because something was a certain way 20 years ago doesn't mean it's still that way today. That would be CRAZY to suggest that.

A friend of mine hosts LAN parties twice a year. We get 20-30 people out, depending on when it is exactly. 3 days of fun. It's been going on for well more than 20 years now, and people have brought their kids to the party at this point. It's a great experience, lots of fun, and a highlight of the year.

The important thing here is that we know Chainguard's word cannot be trusted.

Chainguard will lie and cheat to put themselves first. Not their customers, but themselves. These are just plain facts.

You can't agree to an embargo and then just ignore it when you feel like it. What other things are you willing to go back on your word for, especially when you know for a fact you are putting people in danger.

It was an attempt. Chainguard releasing dramatically increased the attempts. Ignoring facts and timelines to suit an ignorant narrative doesn't help.

> I would never use PHP

That you would trust liars and people who are anti-security is telling.

Belief isn't necessary when you have facts.

This is why good browsers have a reader mode. Click a button and you can make it easily readable for you if you have challenges reading. I don't know why you would resize the window. Just use reader mode.

First, "might" wasn't the assertion.

Second, if you're right, that's worse.

> Part of the decline is attributable to a global drop in desire to migrate at all.

That's not what the article suggests at all.

The drop is calculated only from those who want to move.

Yes, it's still #1, but the drop that isn't a result of people not wanting to move. Instead, people that want to move are picking the US as the destination a lot less.

So, if I follow this correctly, Mononoke is a Facebook project. Facebook, now Meta, is widely known to be a company that steals stuff and doesn't give attribution.

The issue, fundamentally with Anthropics announcement is apparently "attribution, not copying."

The Mononoke project sits in a facebook org repo, so i assume it's a Meta project.

So I guess my question is, if it's good for one company, why isn't it good for the other company?

I realize real people work at these companies, but I can't feel sympathy.

> Most things are decided long before SCOTUS involvement, and most courts are liberal-leaning.

Doesn't matter if the damage is already done. Raise dead doesn't exist in the real world. And the courts don't decide things. The executive has proven it will just ignore the courts.

> Republicans are far short of a supermajority in the Senate so nothing passes Congress without Democratic votes

First, this it 100% not true, and secondly, if you ignore congress, it doesn't matter. And once again, the damage is already done by the time congress gets around to it.

> The White House is always singularly partisan by definition, what Democratic counterbalance you expect to see in a Republican White House, or vice versa?

Expect? None. Hope for? Basic respect to the rule of law to start. But with pdf in the white house, all bets are off.

> not sure if the govt was involved or not

The Government was 100% involved.

> How do you defend a company with 30% marketshare being a monopoly but the other company with 70% market share isn't?

One allows you to install different browsers, the other does not.

Being a monopoly isn't illegal (in the US). It's what they do that matters.

Now, that doesn't mean Apple is a monopoly with iOS, because the Sherman act doens't dictate it only looks at US only markets. It look at what makes sense in the context. Of course, a court could decide that regardless of what the numbers are internationall, what matters in this case is just the US market.

Trying to predict that is useless at the moment though because the US courts are all over the place.
