It's not hard; but often the TV will nag and nag until it gets a wifi connection.

And with how hard these manufacturers are trying, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they start including some alternate data connection for metadata/DRM/whatever. (ie, not the primary streaming data connection)

Last time I looked into it, you CAN bypass the rqlite raft layer, and hit the local sqlite directly, but you are not guaranteed consistency. Depending on your use case, that may be okay.

We still have public libraries. They usually have a pretty sizable collection

They can ask your web browser what GPU you have.

If it says QEMU, the jig is up.

See here:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/GPUAdapterI...

Live demo here:

https://www.checkadevice.com/tests/gpu/ (random web site that came up in a quick search)

You have to make sure your VM + GPU hide or falsify all identity information. They just have to find one API or signal that you missed that reveals it.

The tools to "knock over" a software system are easy to download and come by, but do require some skill.

On the other hand, "You wouldn't download a wrecking ball?"

> It's fortunate that the steps required here aren't particularly complicated for the devices you can update, and the advice essentially boils down to 'update them'. The problem is the devices you can't update or update easily.

> Update everything that ships a CA bundle: your OS ca-certificates package, certifi, Node, Homebrew, and rebuild your container images once the base images pick up the change.

> Devices you can't update are the hard part. Routers, printers, TVs, appliances with frozen firmware will trust these certificates until expiry, which is July 2039...

Quick -- we need to MITM all the smart TVs so they can be jailbroken in one fell swoop!

I suspect that's a problem both with human read/written code, and LLM written code -- larger features should be chunked up into more manageable to understand and reason about functions, and assembled at higher levels.

Guiding the LLM (or humans structuring/guiding juniors) to shape the abstractions help make the overall feature and reliability of the code much better.

Perl folks dealt with that for years too :)

How do you wire up Claude to listen in to your SDR?

Interesting related question -- I recently inherited several WiFI AP/Routers that are openwrt or DDWRT compatible. Are there any packages that folks are working on, or know of that can centrally manage a fleet of them?

If there wasn't, I was going to use this as a project to explore vibecoding...

Did you like Myst? That was the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

Title screen video gives a vague story. Game starts. No dialog. No text. Just ... clicking and discovering the rest of the story.
