This has very little in common with Stagefright. Most importantly: Stagefright was vulnerable to arbitrary media being sent in arbitrary apps.

This requires carrier to cooperate.

They could just... take down the mobile network without having to go through the hassle of bricking your phone individually.

And it's not that hard, bring down a VPN or some core routing service.

The carrier? You mean the company that actually routes and controls the emergency calls and other calls this DDoSes? And routes and controls all your data transfer and owns the cell towers?

How do you make calls without trusting them?

No, I think the problem is that the person writing that:

- Has grown up and doesn't actually want to play games anymore (without realizing it)

- Is severely depressed and needs other help than the one games can provide.

Funny how "maybe they work in different domain" doesn't come up here as well.

When y'all talk about these LLM programmers, what are they programming? The next startup Typescript website, a new OS, a C++ firmware for a fridge or a control system for cancer treatment machines?

You're mixing up cause and effect - the short term limits cause a different, less people culty, governance.

I'm not dismissing people, I'm dismissing your poorly thought out opinion.

This is what a discussion is - and besides me not liking it, it's also flawed and dismissive of people.

You sound like you don't really know much about teams and leadership.

Getting rid of your best means you'll also make sure that the rest of them slowly, but surely leave and never come back. Good people will not work with average people which results in long term failure to compete for the company.

There's a reason why all tech industry leaders have focused on getting a *consistent* and *even* pool of good workers to establish themselves there (against wisdom of the MBA crowd you're repeating here).

Exactly, this prevents personality cults and power hoarding.

Saying Hungary hasn't changed has to be the biggest lie I've seen in a while.

What glass effects would VLC render in the video?

Which doesn't change the fact that you need a corporate entity to be there to actually deploy and maintain the software you're pushing - and for a longer time than a few months before you get bored.

Does this still prevent hibernation from working?
