Your general point is true, but in this case the devices are not really sensitive enough for radon to matter and the same is usually true for cosmic radiation.

When capturing open-air terrestrial tracks they are more or less uranium and thorium detectors.

"Necessary but not sufficient" conditions are still necessary.

The associated paper is (I will say generously) not forthcoming: https://zenodo.org/records/23526702

I can also find no working model. I expect this may be disregarded for now.

For what it's worth, it's not an unreasonable conclusion a priori, though no comment on the methods here. The bouba/kiki effect has been demonstrated in newly-hatched chickens in controlled experiments.

That is easy. I entered all of the digits into this website and it determined it was random.

And then what?

If the queue size grows beyond volunteer capacity then volunteer time becomes a scarce resource. In my experience (in other organizations), more likely than out and out block listing is aggressive prioritization. It takes sensible design to determine which papers get to consume moderators' time first.

Then, if someone posts rejected papers regularly and is deprioritized, it naturally follows that they may try to submit three more... and get stuck naturally. There is no need to ban them. They will still get a response, and they will get a fair shake - when there is time.

From a diplomatic perspective, the US is quite busy alienating itself from all its allies, just as it is trying to lock down and totalize a major breakthrough technology. What better way to cement the alienation of the US than to show both its hubris and its selfishness at once by demonstrating how anyone can do what they do?

Out of curiosity, why do you think your paper isn't getting the attention you'd hoped for?

Generosity is not "giving stuff away for free when it hurts you badly to do so." Neither the giver nor the receiver are comfortable when generosity hurts the giver, and the dignity of both may be compromised as well. Generosity that is disrespectful of comfort and dignity is worth very little.

A company with $2000 in its first few days need not give away $1000 to act generously.

Only surfically so. Dig deeper and the story gets much worse.

Then, of course, one must verify that the verification code is valid, or the purpose of verification is more or less moot.
