Whilst not one of the 80's watches. The 90s watch with the VCR controls was amazing during highschool. As soon as that TV got wheeled out in class we all knew that thing was going to randomly pause, play, stop etc. Hahaha.

It is for sure actual fascism. Also how is the word racism losing meaning? What?

Your argument is that if a word gets used more it dilutes the word? That's not how language works.

> so we have no way to tell if $500M is crazy high or crazy low.

Well, lets take just one of those examples, Minecraft.

Cost apparently $150mil to make, and so far, has earned around $960mil. So if we use the usual doubling of the cost to get to the real cost with marketing and everything, it cost ~$300mil, so that is about $660mil profit.

Now of course that gets split, Xbox wouldn't get 100% of that, but still, even if it got 50%, thats still most of the way to the $500mil they turned down, on just ONE film, and only factoring in the theatrical release profit, not including any money it would have made on merch, or streaming, or anything else.

Both him and Dario seem to be in the phase of using this as some form of marketing or corporate capture.

I'll give my own personal reasons, our interest rates were going down.. Trump decides to start a trade war, then the central banks get a bit worried, then Trump decides to go to war with Iran.. now the central banks are increasing interest rates, as the future is uncertain.

His whole rhetoric is America should make more stuff right... Well, we can certainly stop buying that stuff since the choices he's made have hurt us. I'd prefer to buy closer to home thanks.

Not the only one I'm guessing.

I don't think this is the generational reasons this article is making it out to be.

We would drink our share of Californian wines, but after the trump trade war, war on Iran, and everything he's done to destabilize the global economy... We decided to stop buying anything American.

Wine was an easy switch.

Is there a Pareto frontier for the number of times articles mention or don't mention a Pareto frontier.

Yes, absolutely, but only if people keep contributing in the open.

So they trained a model on open weights, and then aren't releasing the weights... am I reading this right?

Jev is a new type of model that just makes decisions based on given options. It's small and really really fast.

Leftpad is a npm package that chooses if it should or shouldn't pad the left side of a string. It was famous for bringing down everyone's npm installs a few years ago.

This combination is a double joke. Put something stupid in something stupid.

This should be the top comment.

It absolutely is not a great situation at all. This won't make things better.
