This is likely true in a vacuum, but US national security concerns means the US needs Intel.

> Maybe the people making grocery store clerks feel afraid at work shouldn’t be free to walk around causing trauma.

Have you ever been on NextDoor? A bunch of people are terrified of completely normal interactions because people look & sound different.

It's not the free exchange of ideas if the CCP can put its thumb on the scale.

If an employee cannot handle working from home then they can voluntarily return to office or be terminated for cause.

I’ve been leading a team remotely since March 2020 and have had no issues with my team that wasn’t cleared up after a quick conversation in our 1-1.

You’re right.

I work far more from home on average. When I worked from the office I had so many interruptions. We’d also take Wednesday and Friday afternoons to play table-top games. There was table tennis and foosball. Sometimes we’d all go out for lunch and it’d take 60-90 minutes. Now I just eat lunch at my computer, I don’t table top game or socialize. I just code and zoom all day.

The abuse is real, but since I’m not commuting it’s a great trade off of an hour wasted each way.

The cheapest generic is $110 without insurance at CVS for two doses.

(Sometimes you could need two doses in the event of an emergency, according to doctors.)

I know this because I've been buying them for years without use (thankfully), on the off chance my son has a life threatening reaction to eggs.

The article is talking in aggregate over a workers lifetime.

As a manager, it seems true to me. It's much easier to convince HR to pay $X for a new employee than to give a current employee a large enough raise to hit $X.

This is really cool.

As a software guy, how can I learn more about making PCBs (other than the linked blog)?

Isn't that an issue with who provides the UTMA account?

Isn't itemization extremely rare post Trump tax cuts?

> This fails to realize Congress works entirely the way it was designed.

Don't really think so.

The 1929 Permanent Apportionment Act subverted the intentions of the founders and clearly swayed the power balance back towards rural areas, even though they have equal representation in the senate.

You can track it separately, but if you use a database like DynamoDB using a ULID as the SK leads to optimized access patterns. If you use a UUID as your SK, then sort order of two items created at the same second is not guaranteed.
