I was having trouble wrapping my head around it but this cleared it up.

The same thing, "buy American" means to an American. I.E. A New Yorker might prefer timber from across the continent in California even though Canada is right there.

"Who decides what information is “accurate?”"

Previously agencies. Now everything bubbles up to the supreme court.

The headline look pretty accurate to me. Under this ruling, being a US citizen does not guarantee you a constitutional right to safe drinking water; that right would depend on state legislation.

I think the bigger deal is that the people of Jackson were lied to and this sets the precedent that there is no recourse. It's not like someone in Flint knowingly drank contaminated water, the city withheld the fact that their water was contaminated with unsafe levels of lead.

The only reason I'm considering picking one up is I think we're not that far away from compute limitations in consumer hardware.

IMO giving "benefit of the doubt" to something beyond doubt is bad, straight up. If someone can't tell this article is AI then they need to go spend an hour a day reading known AI writing vs known human writing until they develop the skill; the voice of this author SCREAMS AI.

I'm a firm believer in not engaging with or promoting the content of misrepresented AI.

I'm still skeptical of the smaller models after the talent exodus a few months ago.

If you even broach language related to biology you’ll get rerouted. I was presenting data in a grid and referred to a grid cell, Fable saw the word “cell” and safeguards kicked in

Revenue isn't profit though. Anthropic is already profitable OpenAI financials have looked doomed for the past year

Reuters has been reporting that Chinese government is undergoing similar investigation to the US; blocking the export of domestic frontier models. They boil down to "anonymous sources" but it does seem inevitable as the tech gets stronger and stronger.

Something I've been doing is making an automated hydroponic tent. Temp, humidity, EC sensors and a few servos to control nutrients all feed into an esp32 + servo controller and broadcast data through a local webapp. Just need to add a camera for timelapses and remote viewing.

The range of these lora nodes is a bit of a myth. It is better than higher frequencies but you shouldn't expect anything more than a km with obstructions, realistically half that.

Not to say they don't fill a niche, but bandwidth and range limit it's viability to small operations; even an optimal network cant handle more than a few hundred tweets per hour.

Are you actually seeing demand?

I don't like that default on mac either but in their defense it's super easy to customize. I turned off all but applications and my documents folder for spotlight search.
