You're supposed to ask your agent to summarize it for you, I guess.

IIRC in RSA the key, a prime number, is selected between 2^(bits-1) and 2^bits, or iow it always starts with a 1₂.

I just had a realization: I've been hearing and reading about Smalltalk and how great (though slow) it was for the past 30 years … but I've never once seen an application, let alone a killer one.

Well, except for development environments.

Anyone know one that's worth looking at?

I almost never impulse buy. When I order something, it's because I need it. And if I need it, I definitely care that it arrives quickly.

You're completely wrong in this case.

Cyber-vandals doing random attacks for the lulz incentivize, however weakly, stakeholders to securize their system.

Without them, all our infrastructure would crumble at the same time once an APT decides to go all in. At least here we get a preview of how bad things could get.

Those machines require certified consumables to operate, as well as regular calibration and maintenance anyway. Labs have to follow quality assurance procedures. It's not just some random piece of equipment you can yolo.

Maintaining old hardware to 2026 security requirements is damn near impossible, and what constitutes "old" is very variable; HOWEVER putting them behind a dedicated VLAN+firewall+VPN is not that hard.

I've helped do it for industrial equipment (win95 controller or something) that couldn't be upgraded without spending millions, but it sill required pulling out the old 10base2 network and installing cat 6 cables in a factory floor and new switches.

No, morphogenesis is a more general problem and we know very little about it.

It's missing an obvious one: morphogenesis.

Just by what you're describing, that 2h train ride is in fact close to a 3h walking+waiting for the tram+climbing stairs+waiting for the train+finding a seat+climbing more stairs+finding another seat+climbing more stairs+finding another seat+walking+waiting for the bus etc.

The global warming potential of hydrocarbons as such is generally overblown, since they oxidize into CO₂ in the atmosphere with a half-life of a decade or two.

A 2h train ride is not a problem, but what is is the trip to and from the stations.

A 2h autonomous car ride removes that entirely.

It demonstrably was in Germany.

Look up Greenpeace Energy, and what cushy corporate job Schroder got after leaving office.

I didn't claim it was orchestrated by them, it may or may not be, but it is evidently aligned with their interests.

Exactly the same as shutting down perfectly fine German nuclear plants was aligned with Russian interests.

> i dont think the CCP cares whether there's data centers in rural america.

They certainly care that the US loses the race for AI.
