+1. I noticed ChatGPT now pulls out a calculator or writes a script instead of hallucinating numbers. Initially it was terrible, but recently it seems pretty good... that said, if you're doing serious work with this you should probably double check. And if you're doing repeated work, obviously get it to write a script or formula instead of doing 1-offs.

Full time on passion project only makes sense if you're also getting paid a decent salary. Full time for a bunch of free loaders does not make sense.

Also it gets less fun when people start making demands of you and you have to deal with taxes and all the unfun stuff.

I imagine it looks like Wikipedia. Every year they have a big campaign...

Naughty America uses it too. We met some guys from there in a hot tub at the hotel we were staying at for a PHP conference.

What is special about Postgres' column type? Is it not just binary(16)?

> There was just something about that game that had a beginning, middle and end for me. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I think you had a very different experience than me. I enjoyed The Division 1 and 2 but the story was completely unmemorable and by the time you get to the end they shift you into end-game Diablo-esque grind-mode, not some definitive ending.

All humans did this? Just for sport? Good on you if you didn't use any AI to figure this out.

> It sounds and feels a lot more like an engineering or product management role—something a lot of programmers would never in a million years have signed up to do voluntarily

Now that you phrase it that way.. I think I'm very glad to have transitioned from 'programmer' or 'dev' to 'big-tech software engineer'. The jobs are very different. I had no idea what I was in for. SWE is much less fun. All meetings and alignments and docs. But I think that's what my job would have been forced to become with AI anyway, so at least it prepared me for this new world.

https://caniuse.com/css-anchor-positioning

All browsers at least have partial support. I've been using it.

A lot of models required exactly that. But I imagine it varies from model to model.

Automobiles as a whole, yes. Spending $30k+ more than you needed to for a luxury or big honker, no.

Wat? I would have thought a TUI is the least ADA compliant. Sure it has hotkeys (as does any decent GUI app) but does it have TalkBack and all the other accessibility features? I don't think ASCII-art is very accessibility friendly.

I think you can make it to 5 million in maybe about 12 years at FAANG. Maybe quicker if you're frugal. More if you raise the ranks quickly.

Use Dockerfiles. You have a build step that installs everything to complete the build and then another step that only installs the production deps you want to deploy.
