I do the same thing. But there's always another level I see a lot of people (well the ones sharing their screen in meetings) forget about: Windows.

For each topic, I have a window for it. And I have at least 5 windows always open (e.g. Email, Youtube [currently 25 paused videos], HN [Sometimes I'll keep articles open I want to get to, but then I will blindly close hem all to start over], Google Drive, Google Music, etc). That way I can close the window when that task is complete.

I always tell myself that I can just Bookmark those 5 things and go to that site again, but I never do.

I'm American, and had thought the same thing at first glance. My brain had expected the word "water" to be there, but wasn't.

Winning arguments and solving problems are two different skillsets. And the US Congress is mostly people with the former. Not to say that winning arguments doesn't help when choosing a solution, but it is very different.

The same thing happens to me - I call it a low-res tan because it's all pixelated.

I realized early on that sometimes management thinks that if you don't look stressed than your not taking it seriously enough. Phrases like "I don't feel that you have a sense of urgency" really messed with my head back then.

I have a old keyboard (Ensoniq SQ1-Plus) where the battery doesn't work right (even when changed) and I was going to put ML Studio on a Raspberry Pi or Mini PC with a USB MIDI device to record. But this thing is exactly what I'm looking for.

When I want to record for real, I'm going to use my DAW. But I want a way to quickly record tracks and this looks pretty great.

With me (I have ADHD), I would never be able to listen to an audiobook alone, I would zone out and day dream one paragraph in. But If I'm playing a game on my phone, I can listen and pay attention for hours.

Not sure where I first heard this, but I say it to my team all the time: "Programming is thinking, not typing"

The only thing I liked when I did use Facebook was the "wall". To be able to post on a friend's wall semi- publically where their friends can see it. Most other Facebook clones have had the idea of tagging, but it wasn't the same. (E.g. Google+)

This may be pure conjecture, but my first thought is always that it might be a marketing ploy by the AI companies to make their products seem more advanced than they really are.

I would imagine, in this example, that the fact that you put in the numbers yourself gives you a mental map of where the numbers are and how they relate to each other, that having AI do it for you doesn't give you.

You could stare at a large sheet of numbers for a long time, and perhaps never get the kind of context you gained by entering them.

Additionally, if there was a mistake, it may not be as noticeable.

It felt the same way when AOL bought Time Warner.

I used to use XSLT all the time, but I had forgotten all about and haven't used it in years. It was perfect to do a quick SQL query with "for xml auto" and then add an XSLT stylesheet to it. Instant report.

I also do the text file thing. I use EditPad Pro. The only additional thing I've done is create syntax coloring in any file named 'tasks-*.txt'.

I added simple things like: - Color anything ending in a ? green, so when looking at a list of notes, so I know where the questions were. - Any line beginning with an all caps word is highlighted (e.g. TODO: ) - Any line ending in a : is highlighted light blue (e.g. title) - Any Line Containing "Error" is red

I do suppose I could be using Markdown, but I've had this going for 20 years now.
