Thanks for providing the source.

I'll just note that again, my hypothesis and the actual way it works are very similar to each other, and both are very dissimilar to the suction cap analogy. Suction cap works by passively utilizing atmospheric pressure, this utilizes moving a large amount of air in the direction opposite to the road. The only difference is that it's taking the air from below instead of pushing from above. I imagine that is the case to utilize the same outlets that are used for lifting the car.

I think we are saying the same thing, and both of us agree that it's not "suckers" like the original commenter said.

This is not how it works. It’s not sucking against the road, it’s pushing against it with thrusters at the top of the car.

If that's the reason, then the solution sounds like a typical bad bureaucratic government - instead of fixing the problem (improved treatment for horses), ban the whole thing.

Then find a single court case that matches what I said above. With so many debt collection cases in the US, surely you could find a single one.

I’m sorry, but you are the one spreading misinformation.

But I’ll give you an easy way to prove that what you said is true instead of just yelling at each other.

Give me a single example in the US of an online service company providing service after a credit card declined on a no-commitment service with auto renewal that actually sued in court and recovered something. There is none.

Both GLM-5.3 and Qwen 3.8 max have carve outs for commercial use above a certain threshold.

But it doesn’t. If it was true prices in the EU would be lower. But the EU is by far and large more expensive, even after accounting for VAT.

This is actually a good point. The policy described in the article doesn't apply in the EU, but it's not like Amazon is cheaper in the EU.

Also, it is common to see in the US competitors with lower prices than Amazon (e.g. I frequently see brand name products on Microcenter cheaper than Amazon), not to mention that it doesn't apply to sites like eBay. So you've got to wonder if it actually has a strong effect on pricing across the internet.

That’s not the same at all. The GLM attack appears to be intentionally built, encrypted, and obfuscated based on the blog post.

Also, the Grok one made the front page, why am I only hearing it through a minor comment?

Wow. Why was that not a top news in hacker news?

Software engineers are primarily outcome-oriented.

Mathematicians are primarily understanding-oriented.

Leveraging AI to tackle new frontiers without true understanding converts mathematicians to engineers.
