Some states have really nice rest stops along the freeway. I think it's variable

They also had guidance of negative cash flow for 2027. This is not what people like to hear. This is the same as Gelsinger betting the farm on 18a/foundry/etc. I think it's the right decision for the business but the numbers were never going to look good.

It's worth remembering that 5 years ago Intel was making close to 100b revenue at over 20% net margin. Whether they can again achieve this (or better) is the question, and depends on how much the total capex costs, how fast they can ramp up production, how long the data center capex spending lasts etc. It's possible their margins will never be that high again if they were the result of irresponsibly milking the business and not reinvesting. Tsmc has much better margins, though that may also not last if it's a result of lack of competition.

I love it when the listing says "includes covenants to protect your investment". Hahaha not a chance

Reminds me of megabus, a discount greyhound type bus. The last time I used it it didn't show up, with no refund, and an obnoxious runaround on the phone. I was amazed anyone would run a business like that; not surprised to see they went bankrupt in 2024. I've since given up on buses entirely. Greyhound shows up on schedule but is still a thoroughly unpleasant experience

No kidding. Having a separate app store is the default for pc gaming.

It certainly goes back further than that. The protagonist in the silent movie Greed was a "dentist" working without a license.

I saw Mad God not too long ago. I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped, but I did enjoy some of the animation.

If I remember correctly, using nvm on Debian to install the newest version of node silently appended lines to my bashrc. Friends don't silently append lines to my bashrc.

No one will attack North Korea because they are backed by China. I'm not sure how nuclear weapons helps them unless they split from China. Maybe they make money selling the tech to others.

That was 8 years ago, and the result of altria massively overpaying to acquire juul, a deal which went spectacularly bad.

I'd be surprised if any one selling tobacco products were swimming in cash. Single use vapes are expensive compared to cost but there are tons of sellers. If you buy vape juice you can get something like the equivalent of 100 packs of cigarettes for $15. Vape shops jack up all the prices but there are 5 shops on every street and they always seem empty and I'm convinced they are mostly just laundering money.

I recently ordered something on eBay, which when looking up tracking on usps said that it used counterfeit postage. The seller didn't want to give my money back right away, saying it happens all the time and they think it actually was still going to arrive. Then they gave my money back. eBay is full of scammy sellers and seems not to care

Neovim is advertised as being a plug in replacement for vim, which is 100% not true. Many things are different, including undo files and :!. I can't remember the feature that made me give up, but at some point the switch became more work than it was worth, considering my vim setup already works. I'm not sure what I would do if I were starting out today.
