My home firewall runs Ubuntu. It doesn't accept (new) incoming packets from the internet. I don't have any IoT devices except printers, whose packets the firewall rejects, and has done since I bought them. Do I need to do anything apart from wait for the patch to become available?

Just like with the data center 'debate', it's best to assume both sides are just churning out propaganda.

"It's ok that I devote my career to preying on people's mental weaknesses and getting them addicted, because the government isn't regulating it."

I think I'd need to take a zofran if I met you IRL.

Many bad things that people do stem from weakness or inner pain. So it's helpful to be reminded from time to time that some people deliberately, thoughtfully, calmly and systematically devote their lives to harming other human beings -- that is, to evil. We should be grateful to augment_me for this reminder.

> management said if any layoffs will happen in 3 years period after this, same package will be offered no question asked.

And people believed them?!

I use Pi, but I think its updates and its extensions' updates are the biggest security gap I have right now. I'm not even sure what they keep updating TBH.

Any recommendations?

I'm running Pennyroyal's Docker image (on Podman) which uses sglang. I have a single RTX 6000 Blackwell and 128GB RAM. I turned off disk caching. I'm running with a ~500K context, but have been limiting it to 256K in the client (pi).

It always detects its spelling mistakes, btw, but it worried me. It may turn 'rm -rf ' into 'rm -rf /' one day.

Almost certainly the problem is my config, not the image.

I find 27B more accurate -- maybe because I'm running at FP8 instead of NVFP4? Flash Next starts making spelling mistakes when I get to 150K context or so. Also it sometimes ignores .md file instructions. Not sure if others have found that.

Thanks for stating this. The UK is far more authoritarian than the US. No first, fourth, fifth or sixth amendment. And HMRC can search your house without a warrant - see my other comment.

The anti-Americanism on this site is bizarre. The USA gives people the greatest protections in the world.

France doesn't extradite its citizens. A notorious child rapist has lived freely there for decades. His crime is public knowledge yet he moves among the highest echelons of French society.

Yes, rsnapshot is excellent, I'm glad the article mentioned it. I use it for my weekly backups. So wonderfully simple. I wish the config file weren't quite so strict about syntax, but I only need to change it about twice a decade so no big deal.
