Medicare and medicaid are as a much a gift of revenue for the healthcare industry as it is socialized medicine.

The incentives align well -- people get healthcare for free and and healthcare service provider gets a nice, fat government check.

That's why we don't do preventive care -- our current sick care model is much more profitable.

No, I did not do any of that (except for the cold wallet, that I do have).

When I first bought bitcoin, I put 10% of my net worth in it. That was long time ago and it has appreciated nicely since. But if I were to lose my bitcoin, I would not be devastated.

I believe in the tech and the movement behind it, but I also never put all my eggs in one basket.

This is the first time I have even hear of Herdr, and I try to make an effort to follow ai.

It's getting very difficult to keep up with all the agent harnesses coming out. I love ai but wow its hard to keep up.

Star Trek: First Contact is one of my favorite movies of all time. Probably on my top 5. That generation of Start Trek (pun intended) was so under rated.

Prediction: google cloud will pivot to being a hyperscaler versus a model + hyperscaler. Kind of like how xAI started hosting anthropic workloads with colossus cluster.

bc the alpha is not the model, the alpha is having the physical infra (chips, power, etc).

Its adorable that the UK gov thought they could beat the internet.

The world wide web remains undefeated.

Can't relate. The whole point is to build products and drive value for the customer. It was never to enjoy writing the code. Writing the code was actually the easy part.

> which means Tailwind CSS itself goes into maintenance mode.

You are making quite an assumption here.

Bootstrap was a twitter os library that is still in development today.

Why does it suck that shopify got them? They seem to be a good steward of open source, especially with rails.

You know what would also help traffic congestion? Allowing people to work from home.

Has the added benefit of reducing gas prices (less demand) and less greenhouse gas emissions.

I can't stress this enough -- boycott all meta products.

Delete them off your phone. You don't need insta and whatsapp.

Starve the demon of your data.

I believe it. I haven't written code since March.

There were may companies that announced layoffs and cited ai as one of the factors: Amazon, Oracle, Meta, Microsoft, Block, Salesforce, Cisco, Cloudflare, Atlassian, Coinbase, Snap, GitLab, Monday.com.

Both founders of Anthropic and OpenAI have talked about how AI will replace many jobs, and did so with a sense of doom and urgency.

And yet...they are (pikachu face) surprised that people do not want data centers (which will increase utility costs for consumers) and graduates boo tech leaders at commencement ceremonies?

Tech leaders are clueless.
