They're tapes from the time. I think the check is to see if the 40-50 year old tapes match the 40-50 year old transcripts.

I don't think the Dems are still the party of the working class.

Yes, which baffles me why being pro-immigration is a left wing position, given that it harms workers so much.

Oh yes. I mean ICE could raid some of those big meat packing factories tomorrow, but obviously that would cut down on donations.

>> The idea that illegal immigrants need to be deported (and not have a path to legal residency) comes from a view that those jobs should go to American citizens

Isn't that obvious? I mean I can't imagine why this would be even remotely controversial.

You'd think, wouldn't you?

Your perspective though depends on thinking the economy/money/whatever is a zero sum game, and if a person's wealth goes up, they must have taken it from somewhere else. In general, wealth is generated by growing the economy.

This isn't to say I don't think some companies/individuals/shareholders have absolutely taken the piss compared to wage earners.

Yeah, and admittedly you need to pick your problem domain sensibly.

i.e. you wouldn't vibe code your general ledger, but I'd guess Confluence is pretty vulnerable.

I was thinking we should have our own internal saas-pocalypse where I work, or at least threaten one to our vendors.

It used to be that vendors could tie their cost to the value they provide, but now their cost is more correlated to the token spend to reverse engineer and re-implement them (using appropriate clean room controls etc). If their cost goes to far above the AI-driven re-write, they're more likely to get jettisoned (absent some other moat not included purely in the technology).

I'm sure we can all think of products that charge a fair whack in license fees, but would not be massively difficult to re-implement (or at least for the subset of features actually used).
