Almost like where there's smoke, there's fire.
There was a post here about a year or so ago about a guy on Facebook being arrested for incredibly benign posts [1]. It's the clearest example of violating one of our foundational laws of this country. Yet the police get away with a slap on the wrist as taxpayers pay for their abuse of power. American police are powerful and are not subject to the same level of scrutiny or justice as average individuals. They can selectively ignore laws and constitutional rights as is.

The fact that they don't exist? You have to prove that they exist to make your point, and so far nobody's been able to actually prove their existence. And I'm speaking from direct, professional experience here.
Those stories if you notice are mostly from decades ago, or are from the wealthy csuite deciding to start their own company with rich connections. AI has supposedly accelerated massively in the past two years yet we haven't seen startups appear at that same rate, even with the level of layoffs in the industry. Well outside of AI startups all looking to buy shovels for gold.
In an actual survival scenario power isn't guaranteed and errors of any kind can be life or death. So you need to minimize the resources used to get the thing working.
This is an incorrect way of looking at it. Microsoft was growing at approximately 10-15% headcount year over year prior to COVID. If they reverted to the approximate 2020 headcount that would mean an overall decline in growth in comparison to a situation where COVID did not exist.
It's interesting that you immediately call them an AI detractor because they refuse to pay for something that's low effort. You're not entitled to someone's money and people certainly aren't required to pay for something if they think they can just make it themselves. You're complaining about a bed of your own making, where you want to act like it requires a lot of effort while people replicate it effortlessly.
There is a huge disconnect between the worker experience and whatever the job numbers say, similar to the disconnect between consumer sentiment and the stock market/corporate profits.
