What is a fascist?

I'm hoping that this is getting upvotes for the obvious and disingenuous use of the term "fascist", which apparently has lost all meaning.

Sort of a weak and dismissive take. Tailwind saw a problem in the market, addressed it, and made money for a while. Why shouldn't that business model exist? It exists across SO MANY other industries.

People pay for aspirin, not vitamins, and Tailwind is aspirin.

You're limited by the manufacturer (CUDA is king, thus NVIDIA is the king right now) and your lack of VRAM will make using a useful model difficult.

I'm not surprised at all.

Context: I have a farm of DGX Sparks and several RTX 6000's, and can run very close to foundational models with ~2 sparks

Sadly, HN has increasingly become an echo chamber for 90% of the same kinds of partisan politics.

All model providers do this lmao

I echo the top comment - the politics here have gotten out of control.

Like it or not, Elon and his companies have changed the world for the better.

You are allowed to separate the human from the human's impact sometimes.

Generally speaking, classifying a house as "McMansion" feels like a form of gatekeeping. If the person who lives there enjoys it, who are we to judge?

I'm asking genuinely, how is this top of HN? The comments seem to indicate that HN overall doesn't find this article to be valuable at its face.

Seems to happen a lot with "ragequitting" posts. I feel like I could write "Microsoft Just Lost Me" and it could get to the top.

Lmao I'm no David Fowler fan (leftist blowhard), but he's one of the most talented and successful engineers at Microsoft. I don't think he needs to build a resume.
