Building things into your middle and late middle age is a waste of your talents. You're not as good at building things as you were in your youth. Einstein's output drastically went down after say 1919 or so.

That doesn't mean you don't have something to offer, you do. You're better off teaching and guiding others to carry on the work as you get older. They'll appreciate you for it rather than you selfishly doing it all yourself. Raise your children as if they are your most important project because they are. The work will carry on without you.

The finite lifespan is an integral part of the earth's ecosystem for the reasons you specify. The planet only has so many resources and life has only so many experiences. As I get older, my perspective changes on what is important. If I was stuck perpetually in my prime, I would think I would get bored. If you're dating someone much younger than you, what do you have in common? I'm glad we're only here for a little while. Change is good.

This hardfought wisdom has served the planet well for a couple billion years. What are the odds the Silicon Valley tech-bros have thought this through?

TinCan owner here. The issue with landlines in my experience is that they quickly become overwhelmed with spam calls. That and the ability to lock down the phone to just a few numbers is the appeal.

Could you do the same thing with your real issue tracking software? Your agent could use an MCP to create a Jira ticket and create subtasks or tasks for your subagents? Then you don't need to clutter up your repo with these MD files and .beads directories and what not.
