Problem solving, critical thought, logic, creativity are always going to be valuable.

In a way ai is turning programming more into maths - you write a natural language description of the problem - a proof / program - and then translating that into machine code is a lot of work / abstraction. For example look how much it takes to turn relatively simple mathematical statements into lean. That I guess is going to be the future.

I would encourage everyone to learn the fundamentals still because you will need discretion and to be able to think at a more abstract level.

However its funny that its only NOW dehumanising/demoralising now when its white people losing jobs to the capitalist machine in the imperial core, and not the slave silicon miners making gpus for gamers.

Aibro gets a glimpse at class consciousness for half a second before admitting they are part of the problem and then carrying on.

As an open source - community driven project? Have you looked at the repo on github?

Theres thousands of PRs from claude agents or whatever.

Yeah really feels like a worthwhile place to contribute lol.

Lol your country and your capitalism helped build China.

Wasn't that the thing like ~30 years ago? All the western companies pushing manufacturing into China for increased profit?

Capitalism and the west gave all that power away :), you deindustrialised yourselves.

An llm doesnt 'prefer' to use anything.

Whats different to the effects system just being a type system?

Isnt a function that opens a particular file still just a type? Perhaps dependent?

Reminds me of mercury which has determinism of the function like type signatures.

Children are more vulnerable and more easily influenced, and so are easily swept up by a new technology being rolled out non-consensually society wide, much like social media ~20 years ago.

You mean the Overton window or whatever has drifted right.

Nationalism is a right wing concept.

But why does a particular execution model matter?

A theory is something you can test, model, write proofs, do calculations, eg quantum field theory, group theory.

Simulation "theory" isnt a theory its a conjecture.

Theres no meat to it.

Ive seen HN been filled with plenty of vitrol and hatred. Dang etc does clean it up mostly, but its still often here behind a veneer. Ive also seen really good opinions and ideas. It isnt black and white.

And no I dont think that generally, but it just seems like so many tech people here have been kinda mid/upper class/well off. I think a core issue around AI, around a new technology, is the class/capitalism issue, because that is the system we are stuck in.

But maybe some also havent quite connected the dots, and are starting to wake up to the reality of the situation.

It probably also gets astroturfed.

I wonder if all the commits which involve adding tons more test are the basis for a rewrite in rust anthropic marketing event
