The problem doesn't lie with e/OS/, nor any other alternative. Google locks down capabilities with "Play Integrity", effectively attestation for official Google approved operating systems only. If you aren't on the list you fail the checks, and apps (like banking apps) will fail to run.

Immediately lost interest due to the insane number of cookies I have to opt-out of. I have no idea why a website like this needs tracking.

I was immediately hoping for some local-AI setups that do real work, on limited resources. Unfortunately it looks like this is still waiting on more people to share.

I've looked into M-Disc several times, as a way to backup and archive my personal and family data over the course of my lifetime (and possibly the next generation).

The relative obscurity of the format, the drama around Verbatim's acquisition and the dwindling options for a Blu-Ray player ultimately keep me from investing in it.

Honestly, I'd love a shelf-stable storage mechanism that isn't tape.

That is cool. It's a shame DDH is who he is, which stops me using it.

Would you consider full remote with once a month in office?

I have the same sentiment as OP, but for me the main benefit of a company doing it is the analysis that comes with it.

So that person, on one central codebase at a company I work for, is me.

Assuming I'm not ego-mad, I like to think this is because I built the project from the ground up before handing it over to the rest of the team.

These days other people commit more often than I do, but my name is still dominant, and probably will be for some time.

And yet I feel I always come back to this:

_What can I, as an individual, do to counter wealth inequality?_

It feels like breaking my fist against a brick wall.

First feedback is that it's limited to Amazon US! It looks like you've planned more regions as there is a selector with a single element, but it would be good to support more countries.

I'm not a security researcher, but I do believe in the ingenuity of others. If all else fails, this kind of law in my own country would lead me to running apps within a virtualised environment (if possible), or a dedicated cheap device in a drawer with my actual device still being mine.

You're claiming that the only legitimate use of rooting is criminal activity, which is not true. Your argument is based on a faulty premise in my eyes.

> [...] and there is reasonable expectation to not be caught [...]

Hence my qualifier. I'm not trying to incite anyone into personal danger.

Unfortunately the answer here is to not abide by the law. If there is a reasonable way to bypass this (as the cat-and-mouse game always seems to continue), and there is reasonable expectation to not be caught, then I see no moral quandary with ignoring such a consumer-hostile rule.
