Exactly. You learn very quickly where things are. It just slows everyone down and makes me get lost sometimes cause muscle memory from <win8 still persists.

The windows 11 right click menu should revert as well. It’s like a menu over a menu. You need 2 clicks to get to what you need.

I loved my 50ish inch Panasonic plasma tv. It’s still used in our cottage. The blacks are deep, no blur and remote control response was instant unlike a lot of modern smart tvs.

Is it just me or is codex on windows slow and buggy for general work tasks? I can’t no matter what get it to control its own browser and fan spins out of control on decently new laptop. I tried Claude and it’s much better experience, got a bookkeeping workflow setup with xero mcp and reading my emails finding invoices in no time. Codex has been great for plain coding jobs though.

Cool. I signed up to pCloud recently and what I miss most is a native way to edit files on iOS and windows desktop and have it auto save. Almost to the point going back to Google or onedrive just so I can use sheets or excel and not thinking about how to open the doc or save it.

How will you cool it? Will it be under ground? I’ve often thought about this as we have space and sunlight.

He is saying that more devices that have single use is better? Maybe that’s true but the downside is you own more stuff.

I reckon producing corn in the Midwest would be the most researched and documented crop and location ever in history. So baked into an LLM should be some very good knowledge and assumptions. Growing a different crop elsewhere may be more challenging.

That’s interesting comment. I didn’t think about that. I’ve only ever used Ubuntu flavours so I’ll search through what the popular rolling releases are out of interest.

Why?

I agree. It feels like combination of peak windows UI with the ease of Ubuntu baked in. Then the little mobile app they have that gives you shared clipboard with iOS is cool.
