Forest through the trees guys! I am far more concerned with the fact that somehow there is one teacher for every 12 students in China compared to one for every 35 students in my country. Beyond that I feel the more important thing to focus on is that the proverbial paper dragon has gone digital and in a big way!

Be careful what you say online! Justin Trudeau and Christie Freeland have already shown their willingness to freeze bank accounts and in prison people who demonstrate/Protest against their actions! There is also a new law I believe it's C1 I could be wrong on that number but anyways it's about what you can and cannot say online and the accompanying punishments… I guess they need to develop the AI now in order to track down all the dissident! So all hail are benevolent leader with Great hair!

Thank you for the well detailed response to my question. I'm currently working on returning to the CS Field due to a devastating and career ending injury. The specific Field I'm interested in his programming the interface between hardware such as robotics and user interfaces. So much has changed over the past decade I feel like I'm having to start all over and relearn everything to do with programming! And on top of that I have to also relearn how to live as a quadriplegic! Thank goodness for the Internet and it's incredible amount of free knowledge available these days!

Sadly the way things are currently going I doubt this will ever happen. User data has already been commoditized and as such most companies that are able to acquire it don't want to share it, and or cannot share it due to EULAs and the like. Possibly through mergers and acquisitions such a situation could arise but that has its own set of problems given the antitrust lawsuits we have been seeing lately, not to mention the cooling effect High interest rates have had on such transactions. I suppose a third-party tracker that users willingly install onto their computers might be able to offer up such a thing but I'm not sure there's a market for that and very well may be flagged as spyware as that's basically what it would be.

But that's just my take, and I've been wrong many times before! In fact I wouldn't be surprised if TikTok and Huawei offers up exactly what you're talking about tomorrow!

I like this process much better than using pre-compiled virtual machine images that let's just say certain State controlled businesses are offering up as an easier way to install dependencies and or tool – chains needed for their "Open source" hardware.

vagrant plugin install vagrant-share

Seems like a useful tool also!

It is still pretty early but yeah, I suppose you could look at it as “-1 day” vulnerability… or a back door which goes back to my comment about it being still pretty early. Who added this code? And who is auditing it?

I know it's not adding very much to the conversation but I just have to give kudos to the author of this article. It's always nice to see what the magic smoke inside those chips look like before I let it out! So great job I look forward to reading more of your articles!

I may be dating myself here but I seem to recall Intel offering a hobbled 486 processor in which the math processor was disconnected for no other reason than marketing. Regarding the Gate array Technology it seems we've come full circle with the new risk V processors being offered up at incredibly cheap prices.

Isn't the whole purpose of GIT Version Control? In other words to prevent work loss occurring from mergers and/or updates? Maybe I'm confusing GitHub with GIT? PS I want to set up a server for a couple of domain names I recently acquired, it has been many years so I'm not exactly sure if this is even practical anymore. Way back when I used to distribution based off of CENT OS called SME server, is it still common place to use a all in one distribution like that? Or is it better to just install my preferred flavour of Linux and each package separately?

Sorry for the typos, I'm a quadriplegic using Voice dictation on an Apple iPad and sometimes it gets words wrong [especially homonyms]

I've been out of this industry for a while now so my thoughts may be a bit dated but it seems to me that the current trend is components suppliers and board manufactures are offering design solutions has it value added resource to there customers. E.g. Element 14 or seeds studio. And down

Sorry my eyes are too bad to read the Image, was there a latency value or was this just a Broadcast? I found gaming and voip difficult with satellite Internet due to high latency.

Didn't the NS some other alphabet company create and then open source SHA 256 encryption? Isn't that the encryption scheme BTC uses?

Well if you are interested in programming embedded Devices, I have a project that I could use some help with and would extremely grateful if you could help me see it to completion.

https://github.com/s1gmapr1mus/ESP32-Arduino-Stuff/tree/main...

Just to provide a bit of context, on October 14 2023 I was shot while driving my car and due to the crash and the bullet severing my spinal cord I am now a quadriplegic. I have obtained the hardware listed on the BOM and will be getting a friend to assemble the device but could use some help with the coding. Currently I am using an iPad with voice control and it is tedious to say the least.
