Just vaguely remember what my cardiologist told me. This is absolute, not relative. Which, and I'm definitely not saying it's insignificant.

It is a big difference and definitely worth doing

This is a little bit misleading.

'Preventing a heart attack' means taking life long medication to reduce the absolute risk of heart attack by about 1%, which is worth doing, but complicates the maths a little bit. The scan doesn't magically eliminate heart attack risk

same reason people buy any new device, form factor. we have one in our kitchen and love it, it gets spun around like an ipad .

seems obvious in hindsight that if you double the productivity of the builder, then the customer will want the wall twice as tall.

So what's the context for this? A third accept, so 20k redundancies in a year? 10% churn is very high? doesn't sound high compared to other tech companies.

Are we sure this isn't click bait

(not rhetorical, genuine question)

i'm not really seeing anything new or dramatic in the data. Industries adapt to technology over time, as we see in publishing since the 60s, and i'm not seeing anything to suggest 2026 is much different

Without knowing where these workers went, it's hard to take this sectioned data too seriously

For all this data knows, a decent number of them are making online content with AI assisted tools.

the author does concede the higher level data is less dramatic, in the closing statement but not before he got the clicks

anthropic has record breaking revenue growth already, why complicate it

more users = more training data

if is happening already, there would be stats to back it up. My brief 5 minutes of research suggests it is not.

in my experience AI is helping me defend against potential vulnerabilities, and so the net impact of these threats is net zero or less, even if I'm quite slow in patching stuff

That's an interesting theory I wonder if there is much evidence to back it up.

I'm not seeing reports of dramatic increase in hacks.

It will be interesting test case today, will we see huge amounts of hacks or not.

Comment · 10 days ago
safest option no doubt, let's see what percentage of unpatched websites are hacked today.
Comment · 10 days ago
That's not likely to happen. You don't even know what the exploit is.

Anyway my point is I'm much less likely to get hacked in this new era of AI assistance, as I'm only a few days behind, rathe than a few months or years behind.

I had my app running on unsupported php version for 'years', because i didn't have anyone handy to update it.

so even if it takes a few days to get my AI agent to do this, it's still a vastly more secure landscape for an amatuer like me

Plenty of concept hypercars barely scrape 100 sales, the point is largley marketing in most cases
