Doesn't seem fair to tax someone on appreciated stock if they haven't sold and haven't taken any loans against it.

If your manager demands you be available over the weekend, you are on-call and should be compensated.

Would you mind providing a way to contact you in your profile? I'm not sure my questions regarding average cost per case, duration, etc. are appropriate for this thread. Thanks.

I recently saw your other post about raising funding for a hardware startup. Have you tried another attempt at crowdfunding (if your first one failed to reach the target)? csallen's indiehackers group may have more suggestions.

Congratulations on getting as far as you have. There is plenty of actionable feedback from HN.

What are you prioritizing for your next release? I would recommend including the most often repeated UX complaints from this "Show HN". Iterate quickly and get another round of feedback. Keep up the momentum.

I would like to relate a similar story I've heard.

Gary Vaynerchuk grew his father's brick and mortar liquor store from 4MM in sales to 60MM in sales on the back of digital advertising and ecommerce. He didn't get any equity in his father's company either. His salary also wasn't lavish. When Gary was in his 30s, he left his father's business and launched his own company.

You could take what you have learned from building your father's business and launch a company on your own, where you control the equity and call the shots. If you're not happy with how your family wants to compensate you, wouldn't it be better to forge a path on your own rather than expend time and energy fighting with family?

If you look on youtube for GaryVee, you can hear how he views all that work he did for his father's company. Hopefully it gives you a new perspective.

For those interested, it looks like the aws stack diagram was created with cloudcraft.

I know it may seem like a long read, but I highly recommend taking the time to look the document over if you have/will have stock options from your company. The part about early exercising covers a calculated risk that can potentially save you thousands if not hundreds of thousands in taxes if your company does well.

This plan seems more similar to a profit sharing plan, but the profit in this case is 0 until a sale of the business occurs.
