Meh, with AI you can do better. I stopped adding languages to one of my (not public) pet projects when we started hitting cultures without a tradition of written language.

For the record that point was 168 languages.

I’ve never seen a promotion for this reason - or anything close - in 30 years in engineering, including coaching hundreds of engineering leaders.

What I HAVE seen is engineers who don’t understand the skills required for management thinking that this is what happened.

I’ve seen someone try to claim their ownership of an empty lot as the basis for getting their children into a better school district.

It’s a mess.

Or they believe the long term value of two customers is bigger than one.

It can be about more than the single sale.

Same, just excellent software that I use 100+ times per day.

The Federal Reserve was not created “just because”. The US banking system was wildly unstable when run… largely as the libertarian view would have it.
