This article is bait.

The account was created only 1 week earlier and was flagged as a campaign impersonation account.

Whether that's honest and truthful, we can only know if Meta is transparent. But, not including that information shows what the article's intent is.

> "During campaign season, we pay particular attention to accounts that could be impersonating candidates or campaigns and misleading voters. The account in question was created only a week and a half ago, so our systems automatically and mistakenly assessed it to be impersonating the Nixon for Senate campaign. The account was restored on Tuesday evening after three hours."

>Btw how much media coverage have you seen in America related to the genocide of Gaza ? Jewish terrorism in West Bank?

>That’s what I thought.

Wow, you got me with your nonsequitur strawman argument that you answered yourself and isn't even true. It's easy to identify sophists with how quickly the bring up Israel out of nowhere.

The independent media reports on this and that’s why you know.

China has zero independent media and has the largest and most sophisticated censorship and surveillance state in the world.

Trump would love to have the absolute power that Xi has, but thankfully doesn’t.

Tired of this lazy whataboutism.

Same way they thought getting on a train going 35mph would kill you when railroads were invented.

I jest. But, we should be clear about the risks so we specifically mitigate them rather than being Luddite’s.

There is great economic, security, and environmental peril with most technological advances and being honest and thoughtful will help reduce polarization on this issue.

Surprised I don’t see footgun. That’s as common as load bearing in my interactions.

> I literally didn’t say that it was?

> and in this case all parties are subsidizing to some degree.

Textbook false equivalence.

Comment · 2 months ago
This is a false equivalence.

Adding carbon credits the U.S. is close to 20 billion in EV subsidies.

The ENTIRE EU spent 125 billion.

China supplied 250 billion to a 400 billion dollar industry and is facing overproduction. It’s dishonest to say it’s the same.

Free market capitalism isn’t binary. If that’s what you think, you’re gravely misinformed.

China is nowhere near “free market”. Their EV sector received more government subsidies in the last 15 years than the entire U.S. automobile market since inception. The total subsidies make up half of the market cap of their entire EV industry.

250 billion in EV subsidies from China. 10 billion by the U.S.

Being verbose, convoluted, and obscure does not make you intelligent nor more literate.

Often it’s exactly the opposite. True intelligence and literacy is being able to communicate effectively and to a broad audience in the simplest terms possible.

The only thing different from this list is the ceramic separator. It’s not polymer. However, the ceramic is ultra thin to the point that it’s flexible so volume expansion isn’t a problem and it solves the dendrite problem.

Perhaps a polymer will be invented that can’t be pierced by dendrites. But existing polymers need to be heated for ion transfer efficiency and are combustable.

Technically, QuantumScape also uses an organic liquid catholyte inside the cathode. So it’s not “pure” solid state.

Ah yes, the old - it’s too complex to understand by outsiders argument. And claims of racism to boot.

Taiwan is Chinese, they don’t have this system. So spare me the crocodile tears.

Single party rule and state controlled media with one of the most sophisticated censorship infrastructure in the world has exactly one simple goal.

Comment · 3 months ago
Correct, so long as there is a state controlled media and no independent media and we can only speculate on where people who have “disappeared” from public view are, this is exactly the position everyone should hold.

This is single party autocracy, no matter how much people cry about propaganda.

This is just Chinese propaganda and you’ve swallowed it while.

China is undergoing a massive recession and they haven’t protected citizens. They won’t let citizens be refunded or cancels their mortgages bankrupting them.

They are shoveling money into AI and burdening their cities with massive debt and leaving behind 500 million people in agrarian rural towns. There is now a shift backwards to rural life because AI is high skilled, unlike their manufacturing boom.

Where did you come up with this nonesense?

Comment · 4 months ago
Again, the govt was responsible for pushing this framework in the chase for gdp growth.

They’ve paid for it now. They’re deep in a recession with signs it may be a 1990’s style Japanification.
