Is it easier to teach astronauts to drill or teach drillers to be astronauts?

My money is on Eli Lilly leveraging AI to develop drugs vs Anthropic becoming Eli Lilly. Obviously teaching drillers to be astronauts is the better movie though.

We need to focus on making the stuff we already have cheaper and faster.

That's where an LLM and robots can come into play potentially. If we can just scan everyone every year at their physical we could prevent potentially millions of deaths. Yea there are downsides but the downsides are all the extra tests afterwards which we would then have to make faster. Then you add extra blood work at the physical too, not just the default panel.

The only people who trust clinicians are people who haven't been through the healthcare system. There's the before time and after time. It changes you. Every field has good people, bad people and mediocre people. Doctors are no different.

Anyway, I would say I actually had relatively positive experience with Thyroid cancer. I had been seeing my Endo for 10 years at that point since I had hypothyroidism. His nurse was on top of everything. Very calm and reassuring during the whole process.

But all my experiences with the healthcare system outside of that were just disappointing. I had RCVS 2 years ago and I was in the ER and the radiologist summarized the report wrong even though he has read it correctly. They were starting me on stroke protocol and giving me these drugs but I had ChatGPT read it and it was like this is wrong. It's supposed to say no significant stenosis in the neck. It actually said significant stenosis in the neck. The dr reported it immediately and the radiologist corrected it. What a shit show. No one could even give me a straight answer on if I could go back to exercising or when I can get off a medication. Every doctor I saw was completely different. Have a few other stories like that pre LLM's. But you have to advocate for yourself. And always double check the doctors with LLM's now a days.

All of the comments here are overengineering. The code is the documentation

No. At least not with an LLM. Maybe in 50 years with real AI. A lot of non technical people entering the conversation which is very annoying.

And the reason they get enough electricity is because people did the same scare tactics in the 70's against nuclear.

We can cure Cancer. No wait nevermind, actually slow us down.

If we are actually close to ASI then no one in their right mind would say slow down

Models will be a commodity

> good at its job just use it instead of re-inventing the wheel

Exactly why is everyone reinventing a harness every month. There will be Microslop / Oracle harnesses and there will be 1 or 2 open source ones that win.

A model is just another thing to plugin to a harness. I don't give it much more thought than that. If developers are still caught up on Claude Code, or Codex that's just not a long term thing. It's best to develop workflows locally and in the cloud with open harnesses. I know this will be the future because that's how it worked on every other system that developers use.

Sure there are Microslop and Oracle db users but most of the world we live in is Postgres and Linux. That's why I think most companies will run llm's like that.

Why would any company want coding data now? It's all garbage. I'd be surprised if anything past 2025 is even used for training.

My biggest problem with Zed right now is the font rendering doesn't look that good on MacOS. To me Sublime Text always had the best font rendering on Mac. Electron slowly over the years has gotten better and decent now. Zed just doesn't do the font justice. It's too thin or something.

Here we go again. Autopilot != FSD. Autopilot is not "autonomous" driving. It's lane keep with adaptive cruise control. The same system that Honda, Toyota, etc have. Yes the naming is wrong, the marketing is bad, but I don't see it as much worse as Toyota safety sense. If you use it to be "safe" you're going swerve off the highway into a ditch. I used super cruise from GM in my friends suv. As soon as lane markers go away on a bridge, I almost hit the railing.

I'll get downvoted but just giving you the facts. I'm glad the Autopilot name has been retired. Such a bad name, but maybe a good name because autopilot in planes can't see and avoid obstacles either.

I had bleeding, light red, most likely from hemorrhoids (it was), but had a few other factors that the doctor took it seriously. The insurance didn't cover much as far as I know (or any?). Owed like $1800.

Yea good point. My doctor said he would see a non sedated like once every 2 weeks or so. Would be better to go to one that does it more frequently.

haha, didn't catch that
