There is an alternative hypothesis that is proposed by David Stuckler (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0140673609...), where he claims that it is not unemployment (or any macroeconomic variables) causes better or worse health, but that it is dependent on the policy decision made in times of economic recession. When austerity measures are taken; indicators of health worsen. This idea is also present in other parts of his research. For example: rapid privatization of public companies in the former Soviet Union (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0140673609...).

Off the top of my head:

- sub-goals ("you have already saved x% towards paying of your debts")

- smaller awards (Amount: "$5 saved", Frequency: "3 taps a day award", Time: "you saved something every day this week")

- a ranking (not sure how that would work)

This would not only provide incentive to save, but it would also increase usage, which makes the app harder to forgot/uninstall.

Good luck!

PS: On your website, add a subscribe via e-mail box. Then you can capture people (like me) who would be interested to sign up when you build a native app.

I had the same bug on Nexus 5. I like the psychology behind the app and would use it, but I fear it will become boring and I will quit. Maybe gamify it a bit more.

I second that. GetFocusd is excellent at reminding you why you installed it in the first place. I blocked most of the sites where I waste my time: Facebook, Reddit, News sites and general nonsensical, but entertaining sites. I turn off WiFi and mobile internet on my phone or even set it to airplane mode in extreme cases.

Why is the facebook sync useless to you? Our service (connex.io) also syncs with facebook (among others) and we are always interested in learning more about our customers. If you feel like explaining it to me in a bit more detail, you can send me an e-mail: [email protected]. Or you can just answer here and I'll follow the thread.

Congrats! Very sleek design and intuitive interface. However, I do think that $2 is a bit on the expensive side for a simple app like this. I would suggest that you find some way to figure out where the ideal price point would be for your customers.

(price * sales) - (cost * sales)

Genius, I'd invest all my money into this idea. From a marketing perspective:

1. big market (a lot of wordpress sites run by small & medium businesses that would love an easy and cheap app) 2. practically sells itself (costs, ease of use, service) 3. if possible try to roll it out both ways (drupal and android)

Questions:

1. What about more complex and altered WP sites? 2. What will your to-market strategy be? More specifically: target customer

Again, a great idea and a very good feel for what the market needs. Congratulations!

I like the idea, but I believe there are some issues.

PRICING 1) 1,25 $ is a lot of money for one (1) completed survey. 2) What prevents a company from doing this themselves (is your added value worth 0.25 $ per survey?)

SAMPLE 1) Charities are arguably not the best motivator for people. 2) In a world focused on the right metrics, your surveys automatically incorporate a bias into the results by only selecting those people who care about charity (to put it very blunt and stereotypical, you will only get tree hugging hippies). Same goes for prizes, but a prize is less about the core identity of your respondent (not a belief).

PITCH VIDEO 1) I felt a world-changing idea when you talked about "in person", was kind of disappointed when I realized it's still a survey with a different incentive 2) Half of the people a survey got mailed to don't respond. That's not a disadvantage, it's an awesome conversion rate. 3) I can't find any information except for that video (maybe a use case). 4) I don't really see a benefit for me as a user. Let's say deliverables: will you give me an SPSS database, a report, an analysis, can I import it in excel?, will it even have forms or is it just a way to give an incentive. Lot's of unanswered questions.

PERSONAL 1) Love the chat box and the 'I'm a real person and founder' part. Not sure how long you will keep it up :). 2) I like that you as a person are part of the brand, something very potent.

Great idea. This is obviously not the final step for this product. It is a great concept with a great deal of potential (basically any domotics application) and it will probably have a large potential user base. Think of all the DIYers, techies, semi-techies and others who want to create their own way of domotics.

I love it.
