C'mon they meant 'executable' more broadly, not literally a '.exe' Windows program.

This is only for public servers. If you were using a nickname on _public servers_ that was easy to identify before, then that was already a big mistake.

And this feature does not affect old messages - only ones after December 2026.

That is outdated now. You can run emulators on iOS and you’ll find plenty in the App Store. The only limitation right now is no JIT, which is a problem for more modern console emulation.

This seems like a pretty abstract claim to me. What does "protect the people" mean vs "whatever makes the rich people happy"? There are laws on the books which the police enforce.

Now, I agree that the police are not your friends, and they are incentivized to find crimes when there may not really be any at times, but I disagree with the notion that they are simply the lapdogs of the wealthy. In fact, it seems like in a lot of places in California it's the law-abiding, wealthier citizens that are hassled most by the police for minor infractions, because they know they can actually extract revenue from them.

Agreed. It’s really helpful and refreshing to see the facts like this without resorting to emotional claims.

I rarely use Windows these days but that is the first setting I always change. MacOS hides a lot of them too by default, sadly.

Yep I played via “Classic mode” until Apple removed support

This is super exciting! Also would love to see the code when you share it

Can you elaborate on why it was a “miss”?

How would macOS know if the request is coming from the URL bar or not in some untrusted software?

These permissions are clearly all-or-nothing, or else they wouldn’t work.

You raise an interesting point. Although wouldn’t Anthropic be the best experts on when a model would be most applicable or likely to falter?

I guess my opinion would really depend on the exact wording and details of the arrangement. Lots of people jumping in with strong stances based on pretty limited details.

No it’s Product Marketing Manager. A common title and one part of the holy trinity (PM, EM, PMM) at bigger companies.

That one gets a worse rep than I think it deserves.

You could always pay the one time fee for heated seats like in the past. It was just an option if you don’t want to pay upfront.

And of course those criticisms can and should be dismissed if the creators goals are purely to maximize engagement

Yeah, sadly most people don’t know or don’t care most likely.

Unless it’s in their face causing them friction they will just continue to use it as an appliance.
