CECOT is an excellent example of why common sense, and necessarily heavy handed policing is a requirement for a society to not be a prison itself. If you remove the prison, the prisoners just move into the country and make it a prison too. Except we all get to live next to them.

You can always keep them in jail forever, or execute them. Both are excellent options. Many human beings are complete and total net negatives, wholly incompatible with modern life, and their crimes justify their exclusion or termination. Iryna Zarutska's killer was convicted 14 separate times. He specifically should have been executed long ago, and the fact that he is still alive proves that America is not a Carceral state.

If automotive was regulated like nuclear, then any car crash would result in all cars being sent to the scrap heap forever.

You're describing a market failure. That is a possibility with life. Our economic system worked during eras of very low immigration, namely the 1930s thru 1950s, and our education system was the best in the whole world.

we already massively subsidize Alaskan transportation and infrastructure. Adding school teachers, or changing school teacher education requirements, are both options.

Boomer zoning laws do affect housing supply by reducing supply.

Immigration affects housing demand by increasing demand. These are both effects. They are both bad.

The solution options are: 1. Destroy zoning and keep immigration the same and go full Favela mode 2. 0 out immigration and keep having nice, but too expensive houses 3. address both problems and absolutely crater housing prices, thus giving the youth a place to grow and have families.

We do need to address both sides of the issue. Don't forget that there is both Supply, and Demand for any economic item.

These young offenders are not blank slates whose future actions depend entirely upon how the state treats them. Rhetoric like the Author's has lead to disastrous soft on crime policies that have a death toll associated.

Every year that a criminal is incarcerated is a year that they CANNOT kill an innocent citizen, rob a home or store, desecrate or vandalize the community, shoot up fentanyl in the streets, or do any number of things.

Every year we refuse to incarcerate criminals, is another year that regular citizens are forced to live in prison like conditions. Just like we see people "tribing up" by race in prison, forcing the youth to live in an open air prison is one of the direct causes of the rise in racism in today's youth.

"H1B teachers are simply better"

Considering the overwhelming demographics of H1B visas are massively racially different from the US, this is Racism, pure and simple.

This is the undercurrent of H1B immigration: people who harbor racism against the US's predominate demographic doing anything they can to scam the system and enrich themselves no matter the cost to others.

you said "smarter" in this comment when a more accurate term is "corrupt". Being unable to find a candidate for your given budget requires that you either increase the budgeted salary or decrease the requirements, and train on the job. If you cannot do either of these, your company MUST fail. It is inhumane to demolish the US working class by importing foreign scab labor. Too much labor supply (aka immigration) decreases fair market value for wages. That alone is more than enough justification for ending all immigration of any significant amount.

Handwaving away significant issues as "bigotry, etc" is unhelpful to the discussion. We haven't even covered the impact on housing supply, as illustrated by Canada's insane valuations.

It precisely and explicitly demands that the government restrict supply of foreign labor, as that increases the fair market value of American wage earners. It increases the opportunities for young Americans to trade their labor for a start in life, to support their families, and to make our nation stronger. Importing foreign labor makes it more difficult to justify hiring Americans, and undermines the nation's long term success for short term gains. It is effectively an Anti-investment.

"We were unable to attract highly experienced data analysts, and we REFUSE to ever train anyone for any role, so we should be allowed to use scab labor to undercut American wages"

considering that ~50% of all of our new scientific studies annually don't replicate, its far far worse than you might think.

This is a morally correct and minimum acceptable response. Leagues must admit they were wrong (probably impossible), and mail out letters and trophies (trivial).

These governing bodies need to Do Better. They need to work on themselves.

Testosterone levels fluctuate more on a minute by minute scale with such activities rather than a day by day scale. We should ban exogenous testosterone use, and we already do.

Men and women are not the same. They are a distinct, binary grouping. One cannot measure up to the metrics, characteristics, etc of the other. Women have their own sports leagues because of this. Men do not have exclusive leagues, its illegal in most western countries anyway under discrimination laws. Women just cant compete at these levels though. Thats not a moral judgement but a plain reading of the facts.

As far as the incoming remark about "controlling what high school students do in private with each other", I will rather present you with a question:

Should we make it impossible for thousands of girls to get a gold medal, XOR allow 1 person, born a male and currently pretending/presenting as a woman, to dominate the competition? This is the actual, real life decision that leagues of all kinds must make, from football to chess.
