The more functional the democracy, the less "just as much".
Not easy to make statements about things you don't use.
If you're developing software, LLMs will be ubiquitous eventually. They aren't going to tune the turn radius or how long to hold a freeze frame but they will bang out a UI to let you do that quickly with quick turn around times.
So many simple little things that are helpful but not really worth doing will now be worth doing because the implementation cost is a fraction of what it once was.
People have been moving to cities for decades now. Many of humanities recent developments make much more sense at scale so people are going to places with that scale. Some prefer a quieter environment and don't move but most people rather have opportunities, jobs, services, etc and all that is made much easier when lots of people are concentrated in a smaller area.
It's not like America was super popular before all of this, it was more tolerated then celebrated. This very large straw broke the camel's back and everyone is working on moving away and after that's done, why come back?
I'm more on the second group so LLMs let me get to that part faster without having to get bogged on in the "small stuff".
But I do get the people that enjoy the craftsmanship of the finer details instead.
I'll take the high level language developed solution that I can use now over a low level language version that would reach feature parity with this 10 years from now.
Speed of development is a feature.
Leading a healthy lifestyle increases your chances, eating like a pig decreases them.
Looking at the outliers and saying "See?! It's all a lie!" is like looking at a lottery winner and concluding that lottery tickets are a sound investment.
