Look, I'm gonna say what's been said a lot of times, but bears repeating: when the very first two or three sentences I read are mind-blanketing AI prose breathlessly em-dashing together fragments of stuff I don't care about, it makes me skeptical that there's value perusing the rest of the project. Like, you can't even be bothered to make your lede some form of human-to-human communication.

That's not really a fair comparison, since any software packet filter on that class of hardware will be slow.

If you need layer 2 or stateless layer 3 filtering at hardware speeds, Mikrotik makes 10G switches that can do it for under $200. Mikrotik APs also support port and WiFi isolation which is enough security for most home networks (e.g. isolating an IOT VLAN).

Mikrotik's "fastpath" stateful connection tracking feature is also fast in my experience; not fully wire speed but good enough for untrusted devices that you want to be fast, like a Fire stick or game console or similar.

Gambling is proven to be addictive in the same way many other things are, and the harm of severe addiction is comparable to that of the worst drugs. It's very common for severe gambling addicts to lose everything they have, to lose everything they love, to never psychologically recover, to kill themselves.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never met a German in real life who turned 'w's into 'v's. German has about a zillion vowel sounds and a sound like a 'w' shows up in words like 'Bauer'.

> sharing an analogy with another person is the fastest way to LOSE an argument with someone

This is true if the arguer is hostile, but as I've gotten older, if I get the sense that someone is entering an argument with the primary goal of "winning", I'll try to avoid that framing or just look for an offramp entirely.

Sure, the other party might think they "won", but they were going to think that anyway. For those more inclined to feel that the point of talking to each other is to learn from each other, I'll continue to use analogies and other things reasonable people understand.

Yeah, this feels like a vibe-coded game that people who played it for 1 minute are upvoting, but it just really lacks the feel of how even a mildly solid and entertaining game feels. I got bored very quickly.

I flagged it because of HN's AI content policy. I know it technically doesn't apply to submissions, but I think game submissions (or any others) should show more humanity, instead of being like "look at this momentarily pleasing thing Gemini coded for me".

They support mass deportations based on race, including of citizens.

If that is what they say before they get power, you need only the basic lessons of history to understand what they might do after they get power.
