As soon as I read that line the article lost all credibility with me. InfoSec is plagued with thought leaders who weigh in without understanding what they're talking about.

I have an Orange Pi running pihole and a few family apps, like a shared calendar / meal plan / todo list info board that I can put up on the TV or show on a mini display on the kitchen.

I have the Codex Linux desktop app running on there and quite enjoy building games on my TV with my kids. We just dictate silly ideas via my phone and codex builds them for us.

Thank god. My primary use of ChatGPT is meal planning and while it’s great for recording, recipe lookup, etc I always just wanted it to be able to make checkable grocery lists.

I eventually just had it make a skill for work mode that would build a mini checklist app, but it was slow and felt janky needing to remember to switch to work mode.

This is already such a huge improvement.

If you're in an enterprise that already has a procurement agreement with OpenAI, this means you don't have to onboard another vendor. Bucket platform strategy.

Oh yes Department of Defense is much less disgusting. Actually, why not just rename it to Ministry of Peace? We can call it Minipax for short.

Are we forgetting how fast they rushed in to deploy Claude at the DoW with Palantir?

I think Codex is a better fit for professional software engineers. It's able to one-shot larger, more complex tasks than Claude and also does better context management which is really important in a large codebase.

On the other hand, I think Claude is more friendly/readable and also still better at producing out-of-the-box nice looking frontend.

Context management is one area where I’ve found Codex is a lot better than Claude. Sessions last forever without degrading. Codex doesn’t forget things that Claude drops from context.

Another sketchy practice: if you get Uber Cash through a card like Amex, when you go to use it the price for the ride is automatically $15-$20 more than someone who doesn’t have an Uber Cash balance.

I’ve checked this side by side with colleagues at the airport getting ride quotes to the same hotel. When you have Uber Cash they will quote you more. You can find numerous Reddit threads on the topic as well.

This feels very illegal to me, but not a lawyer.

If you believe the AGI thesis, this is a stepping stone to unlocking fusion and other scientific advances.

Jobs was kind of infamous for making people put their app / product in front of him while he sat in silence and used it. Harder to fake.

But lots of execs don't know enough about their own products to interrogate like that. So they settle for BS presentations.

One of the things I love about ChatGPT is voice mode for collaborative searching. My wife and I will both ask questions about things like house repairs, meal planning, sleep training, etc. So much better than both of us googling separately in silence on our phones.
