I’ve seen several talking about how they hate doing it, but the results speak for themselves. It garners more clicks, so they continue doing it.

You seem to be intentionally missing the point.

They’re lovely, smart, healthy, happy, energetic, fun, and cute.

For what it’s worth, I can’t get any adapters to work on my ThinkPad and haven’t been able to resolve it for a long time. My only HDMI port is broken.

I’m going to try this with one of the Pi’s I have laying around. I’m excited to see if I can get it to work!

As a non-Muslim with very, very limited exposure to the Qur’an, I’d be interested to know some of your favorite passages you’ve personally saved and/or read often.

Cool app. Simple, to the point, and with actual useful functionality.

When one of our cats was a kit, he managed to find a hole in the bottom of our box springs and would sleep in there. Once we figured out where his hidey hole was, it was cute, but the first time led to us being sure he was gone forever.

It’s not available on iOS, for starters.

It can’t be integrated with anything outside of their app, which really has a “quickly translated from Chinese” quality about it.

Weirdly, I downloaded this last night. Super easy to set up and works well. I do remember it having google assistant and google home integrations on iOS a few years back, but that seems to be a thing of the past now?

I’ve messed around with tons of “diy” security cameras on various platforms, however, so it’s very possible I’ve misremembered.

I went to KSU and loved hiking into the Konza. It’s in the Flint Hills, which are beautiful at sunset. Kansas is looked down upon or forgotten quite often, but the huge prairies outside of Manhattan (the preserved ones that weren’t replaced by monoculture farming conglomerates) are a sight to behold.

Really makes you understand the whole “amber waves of grain” thing.

SkyElite, Air Manager, Touch Portal, MSFS Mobile Companion App, Simionic g1000 (has synth vision) and many, many others. Lots can be streamed from the host pc to a web server and accessed via iPad if there isn’t a native app.

Ghosts of the Ostfront and Supernova in the East are also genuinely incredible. The length can seem overwhelming, but he’s so engaging that you’ll be sad it isn’t twice as long.

I don't know how to code and I don't know where to start. When I've attempted to start in the past, with Python, I've quickly become massively overwhelmed and given up or slowly faded into inaction.

Scratch has always seemed like it would be a good entry level sort of thing, but then I see all of this stuff about 8 year olds using it and everyone talking about it being only for children.

I understand that it's meant to be visual and intuitive for kids and whatnot, but it's discouraging, because I almost feel ashamed for wanting to use it.

Maybe it's that I have so little confidence in my mathematical skills and other "logic-related" things that I'm nervous to even start, just to avoid the shame accompanying my inability to achieve anything with a platform literally designed for elementary school kids.

Just venting a little bit. Anyone have any advice for getting started? There are so many little projects and seemingly simple things I'd like to do with my PC, like running custom scripts on my Pis, making cool AHK macros, creating home cockpit stuff for MSFS, etc.

It's incredibly discouraging to see people making all of these incredible things that I daydream about constantly, knowing that I am completely unable to even scratch the surface.

Pity party over.

I have one of these in my closet. Got it for my flight simulator, but then my only remaining HDMI port broke. Sad.

It’s now sitting in a pile of other random displays and Frankenstein parts and various raspberry pis, waiting for a project idea to come along.
