Many 9mm self-defense rounds are subsonic (e.g., 147-grain), so the practicality depends on the bullet design for the application.

I am eternally grateful to Dr. Kurtz for his work on BASIC. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that BASIC was my first foray into programming as a young teen, and it sparked my love for programming. RIP

> Driver was previously cited 5 times for speeding in a school zone but was allowed to keep his license?

We have a lot of dumb laws on the books, but somehow we allow demonstrably reckless drivers to keep their license—sad times.

That's what you'd say to discredit people when you don't want the truth to be revealed. Whatever the truth may be.

The magazine chugged along for decades before changing its identity and recipe to appease a small group of non-customers. It's no surprise it's going away.

Roe v. Wade is an emotional sticking point for people on both sides of the issue, but Congress had decades to codify it into law. Instead, lawmakers chose not to do that so they could campaign on the other side wanting to take away 'rights.' SCOTUS overstepped its authority and robbed the people of the typical process that issues take to gain support in the public's mind. Had they not ruled on such a hot-button issue at the time, I believe we'd have laws in support of abortion by now. I also believe it will trend that way in the future.

They didn't open source Swift out of the gate because they wanted to guide its development according to the features and plans they had for the language. Wanting to have a firm grasp of the language's core features and implementation is reasonable. After all, I believe Lattner was unhappy with some early directions they took with Swift, but it was too late to change anything because libraries and such had already been written. I may be fuzzy on that, but that's what I seem to recall.

Also, I am not an absolutist where free software is concerned. It doesn't make the world worse to release proprietary software. Especially if you have the stated goal of eventually open sourcing it.
