Lua? Tcl? both AFAIK have less vulnerabilities than PHP likely thanks to smaller code size.

The loss is from model training. Serving an open-weight model is profitable and these models are already good enough for many tasks. If Anthorpic/OpenAI will try to recover training investments with higher prices they'll loose the volume (and given infra spending commencements they need the volume). So I don't expect any significant price increase.

AI give employers immense leverage - by threading with AI layoffs they can exploit workers and in the current job market many have nowhere to go.

> Electric cars don’t really solve this issue because electricity generation is not yer 100% clean.

Electric cars reduce emissions even if electricity is 100% generated from gas (a gas power station has higher efficiency than ICE, burning gas emits less CO2 per watt than burning petrol). Also fraction of non-carbon sources in electricity generation is rising almost around the world, not as fast as one may want but rising. Large cars is mostly an American problem, most of the world even if wants large cars cannot afford them anyway.

In a long run - maybe but in a short run high oil/gas/diesel prices push CPI up, as a reaction central banks are rising rates, bonds yields are rising even faster in anticipation of future rate hikes - this makes credit expensive and most green energy project depend on credit so investments into green energy going down too AFAIK. At least clean energy stock indexes are falling for the last few months because of high credit interest rates. So paradoxically Iran war is slowing energy transition.

If I knew it's relatively easy I would have saved $$ on yubikey - for personal projects security requirements are not high but it's good to have something better than a file which could be stolen by malware. Kudos to author for the how-to.

You could generate an additional backup key pair, add to authorized_keys on remote hosts in additional to the stored in enclave key, test then backup and wipe from your macbook (to reduce compromise risk).

IANAL but AFAIK no matter which other passports do you have if you are an US person (a citizen or a tax resident) you must notify you bank in any country to comply with the US laws (but having another passport makes it possible to hide that one is an US person).

> enjoyed the close to unanimous support domestically

That’s what Russian propaganda wants you to believe. And I see no reasons to trust it. Assessing public opinion in an autocracy is from hard to impossible - people afraid to tell what they think and they have good reasons for this.

ZIRP is over but rates are not especially high and yet I don’t remember job market being that bad. Maybe employers are taking wait and see approach and avoid hiring developers they expect to layoff in a year or two if models will continue to improve and becoming cheaper at the current pace.

> It dipped at the peak of the Boris Wave, and is only now starting to creep up

1. I did check graphs and see low correlation - GDP pp dipped after GFC (2008 crisis) then again around Brexit referendum and started to recover 2021 - around the start of the Boris wave. 2. Even if we had a correlation it doesn't imply causation especially given multiple factors battered the economy around the same time - Brexit, COVID (which had delayed and lasting impact) and Russian-Ukrainian war.

Centralisation happens in the west too with AWS getting bigger and bigger. One doesn’t necessarily need the state for this, it’s other way around - the state should stop monopolies and encourage competition.

There is no evidence that Boris Wave had negative impact on GDP per person while there is evidence that Brexit had significant negative impact.

Generally refugees / asylum seekers have negative impact on the budget but their number is small so overall drag is small while skilled/work immigrants have positive impact (paying more in taxes then getting back) and there are more work migrants than refugees.
